1) how do you want that we submit applications / game (url of submission, this topic, mail ) -> can put your project to forum, the title is like this : [ contest: APP - project name - your nickname ] or  [ contest: GAME - game name - your nickname ] , include the screenshot and little description.

2) what do you want exactly : binary, source, both -> both, can PM me the url link to download.

3) what sorts of manual, explaination do you want with our submission (readme file with infos about us, and so on ...) -> need more details, have menu will be better.

Well, I think you may lose great apps/games by requiring the source code. Both GBAx / PDRom / GBADev compos did not require that.
Anyway, if I were you, I would rethink my position source-code wise.
I was willing to enter the compo, but I'll pass if you require to have my source code. It's my intellectual property and I am not willing to give it away.

gbadev compo DID require the source, however, it was just so they could look at it to make sure it was legit, they would NOT release it to anybody:

Code: [Select]
Developers of entries selected to be on the cartridge must be prepared to submit all cource/scripts/graphics etc necessary to compile/assemble your to the project coordinator. NO parts of your source will leave the project coordinator's computer. Your shoddy coding is safe with us! erm..nevermind (it was a joke, relax) Read "prepared", ie we might not ask you at all.
If this is what he meant by needing source code, then you don't have to worry about losing your 'intellectual property'

Well, you are wrong. Code was required only for winners in order to manufacture the card. Nothing more nothing less. Noone else entering the compo had to give their code away.
We are talking about a product being manufactured with multiple ROMs.
That's completly different from that precise compo.

Quote from the 2003 rules : http://gbadev.org/compo_rules2003.txt (same as 2002)

Although you dont have to show us your code we would be very glad if you decided to release the code either along with your demo/game or at a later point. After all, this compo is held to promote home development and what would be better than a lot more of new innovative source code for everyone to study.

I agree about the fact that the source code is required. How can you prove that you have developped your soft. if you are not giving it ????
Well, I think it is a bad discussion about that, lot's of compo needs that source code are supplied with compo, so stop talking about that ...
and your pseudo ...  :o :o :o (for English only readers, it's mean F...ck You .... Wonderfull isn't it !!!)

uhm, sorry, but you're full of ****. 90% of the time when you release a good source, some ******* steals it and claims it's theirs. you're basically giving up all your rights and all your chances with your code.

If the code is not going to be released to the public I don't have any problem to send it to demonstrate I made it. It is not that I don't want others to have my code, but not when I don't want to.

That is, if I send an application of game for the contest, it will lack much of the things I'd like it to have, so that when the contest finishes, I would add those things to the code to complete it, and then I would have no problem to release the code.

Of course I don't like the idea that others copy your code and claim it's theirs, that is why when I take part of code of someone, I put its legal notice and credits on the code.

Anyway, I expect Dr. neo and others to be serious enough to not release the code to the public without permission and not to use it as if they made it.  :)

Cya.
