NitroTracker
A FastTracker II style tracker for the DS, by 0xtob What's this?
NitroTracker is a (music) tracker for the Nintendo DS. If you didn't understand that, you might want to read up on trackers. For starters, NitroTracker is a versatile tool for creating music - everywhere! It supports the popular XM file format that is used by many PC trackers and that can be played on many PC audio players such as Winamp or XMMS.
With NitroTracker, you can carry your XMs around in your DS and compose whenever and wherever you feel like it. "Tracking on a handheld console? Sounds like a pain in the ass." You might say. But because of the touchscreen and stylus of the DS, it's quite easy. You can compose your melodies using an on-screen keyboard, directly edit your patterns by making selections, copying and pasting - all with the stylus. And that's not where it ends: If you don't have any samples at hand, make your own with the DS's microphone. You can even replace the samples in existing songs with your own recorded ones. There are many possibilities already and there will be even more.
The project was coded completely from scratch using only libnds and chishm's FAT library. It includes
- A complete GUI toolkit including many specialzed widgets (to be released separately soon)
- A module player that runs completely on the ARM 7 and that can be easily included into other projects (to be released separately soon)
It uses Chishm's FAT library, so the following adapters are supported:
- Neoflash MK2/MK3
- GBA Movie Player CF
- SuperCard CF
- M3 CF

Hi, thank you for your nice comments!
I wanted to inform you that I have realeased a new version. I didn't change anything in my code, I just compiled in a new FAT library by chishm, because I realized I wasn't using the latest one. The new version has increased support for MK2/3 and also read support for Supercard SD and M3 SD.
It's OK if you use the old version for judging, I just wanted to let you know.
Bye, Tob

Was sad.logged on to tell ya it didn't work.(for me) Happy again.I'll bet this one will. Thanks for trying to make sure this works for everybody. This is pretty much an MK3 place,I guess, and some of the entries don't even work with it(for me).strange.

Argh, I still can't boot it from my MK .. however, when sending it over WMB it works fine, and it reads/writes to the SD card on the MK as it should

Seems like a nice little app, however didn't work for me on v.4 mk2/3 menu with v7 flashme. Whenever I move the selector on top of the Nitrotracker icon, the nds freezes up so I can't even try to flash it to any memory or start it directly.

I can't get this working on my MK2. The Neoflash spring coding comp splash screen appears, and fades out, then it just stays on a black screen forever
Am I doing something wrong? I'm using menu v0.5, and a Sandisk UltraII 512MB SD card.

Hi!
I've made a new version that includes a .gba.nds file that should work better for people who had trouble running it so far. Also, M3 SD reading is now supported.
Bye, Tob
