I've been playing around with the patcher and have successfully gotten several games to boot off the NeoFlash 512Mb that I got in the bundle from IC2005.com.

I'll assume that the NEO Power Kit and Slim Loader 3 are properly installed.  A good test for this is putting the Power Kit into GBA mode and burning one GBA rom to the card and booting the GBA card from the DS's menu.  As long as the GBA game works, then you know the Power Kit is working.

Make sure the Power Kit is in DS mode by running the "NDS Mode.bat" file that is placed on the desktop when the Power Kit is installed.

Download the MK4 v1.0 patcher, extract the zip file, and drag a DS rom onto the "MK4-Mini Patcher V1.0.exe".

For example, I dragged "Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow(U).nds" onto the .exe file and a patched "Castlevania - Dawn of Sorrow(U).nds.gba" was created.

I plugged my NeoFlash 512 into the Slim Loader, and plugged it into my USB port, and ran the NEO Power Kit.  I added the .nds.gba file and then burned the rom.

Once it finished, I put the NeoFlash 512 into my DS Lite and turned it on.  I booted it from the MK4-Mini and got a black menu.  I then pressed B to make it boot from the GBA slot.  The rom started and everything worked fine.  I did not try to go into the MK4-Mini's menu because I get the same problem with it asking to format the NeoFlash card, etc.

Just tell the MK4-Mini to boot from the GBA slot and it will work fine.

I'll try to clean up this post and add some screenshots when I get home from work.  Until then, good luck.

Games tested and working with this method:
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (U)
Advance Wars - Dual Strike (U)
Lunar - Dragon Song (U)
Mario Kart DS (U)
Trauma Center: Under the Knife (U)

Tested, but not working:
Mario and Luigi: Partners in TIme (U)
Seiken Densetsu DS - Children of Mana (J)

my problem is very easy i just cant get the menu to work and i cant see anything in it from picture till ndsroms it asks all the time to format... Yes i can boot ndsrom but only 1 at a time in the gba mode but thats awfull everytime a differend game burning takes a long time the only thing i want is that menu to work... so with gba mode nothing is wrong only the menu doesnt work thats it

but dont worry now that i know i´m not the only one. i know i can wait for a solution so thanks much for your help

So far, I have only tried putting one rom at a time on the NeoFlash 512.  That will be my next project once I have some time.

Well done miniCooper_S.  ::sm-10.gif::
Great guide. Can you post it the the MK4 Guide section?
http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php/board,67.0.html

At the moment the MK4 Mini pacter can have single rom only.
I think there is a new GST patcher comming soon with multi but i dont know anything for sure yet.

:)  Hi all !!!   :D

I bought the bundle with mk4 mini and neoflash 512.
So far as everybody I think I'm able to flash one single rom on the gba card.
But till this weekend I'm able to put some more back-up roms with a loader... ;-)
I explain you how :

1°) - You must replace the original neoboot.bin files by this one
(normally there c:\NEO Power Toolkit) :
        http://davr.drunkencoders.com/loader/neoloader.zip
It's an older one and for some reasons that I don't know it's working...

2°) - After you drop the nds mode icon on the desktop to start NPT
(neo power toolkit) in NDS mode.

3°) - Go to the setup menu \misc  to selected the right location for the loader
         (neoboot.bin) and saved.

4°) - Select "add" and choose neoboot.bin

5°) - Select "add" and one of your backup roms (ex brain age)

6°) - Select "burn" and wait.

7°) - After flashing the card put in your ds lite, selected "mk4 mini", press "B"
and you see the menu...  Press "A" to start the game.

 ----- BUT BUT BUT ---------------------------------- :'(

With the new patcher and the one rom system you're able to play lot of games... That's not possible with THIS one... sniffff
Yeah dudes I make my own test and that's clear that 64mb card
(neoflash 512 is one of them) is hard to make work more than a game...
I went to a three days trip last week-end and I make that list work at the same times :
- Mario Bros 64
- Brain Age
- Yoshi touch and go
- Polarium
- Atari Classics

and that's it... no New Mario, no Metroid, etc etc

So like all I can't wait the Neo Max 2...  ::sm-19.gif::

Hope My test will help you all...

Thanks for sharing... I'm hoping they come out with enough regular updates to address the issues that users are reporting.

I'm also waiting for that gst-patcher 4.0 that Dr. Neo said is coming out (with supposedly even higher compatability levels than the mini-patcher)

Just have to wait and see I guess
