You can just move the cursor to turn it off...
Format your card as FAT32 - you'll be able to put much more map data on it.
POIs: Are you looking at the latest build? The attached samples have more than 7000 pois (check SHOPS) and it seems to work just fine for me...
I may create a POI search by name function in the future...
I am looking in to creating a custom storage format, which hopefully be faster than zip for large maps...

lol on me for the gps thing...  I got as far as turning it on and then went to the help screen and was like uh...

Yeah, mines still FAt which blows and it's a pain to pull 1 gb worth of stuff off just to format, so I'll deal with slow for now.

I think I found my POI issue.  If the picture doesn't exist (forgot to change the name) it gets lost.  Maybe add a default white box if no png exists?

I've built the GPS connection as shown on your site (I have a gpslim236) and it works with the gps_viewer.zip test program, but it doesn't want to work with the actual map viewer.

I have FAKEFEED=0 of course.
I've tryed increasing the READTIME to 20 and decreasing the BAUD to 19200 and either way (both, neither, XOR) I just get "DATA:BAD" shown on the viewer, there are no "Out of range" messages shown, it just seems that it isn't reading the GPS correctly or something?

Any ideas?
I can't get at your site or any of dcemu to have a search there at the moment, looks like the site is down.
Thanks.
danzel.

EDIT: Site is back up now, and the answer is....
Take the UMD out.
Strange but it works now!  ::sm-18.gif:: Now to get a map in the right place ><"

I am glad you figured this one out!
With holux236, you probably want to put the READTIME back to 1
The UMD thing, I think, comes with WIFI modules..
May be in the next version, I'll have a way to unload those...
Until now, make sure that your WIFI switch is off and UMD is out of the drive..
(use the latest gmdl program to generate maps & POIs - in7ane & I keep adding new sources to it)

BTW, how do we claim out prizes? ;-)

hy deniska, i´am a german user and i must first shake your hands for the 1st place, a very great programm!!!
And the Idea with the serial port let my project go round to :)

But, i must say you the same as danzel, on your gps viewer programm the gps signals are shown on the screen, but when i start mapthis! i always had "Bad Data", i own a gps slim 236, same like you. And curios is that,  first time, after build the special cable, i start map this, the gps works, i´ve drive around and my position was shown on screen, but since monday, nothing, the gps device is like dead. I´ve the wifi switch of and no umd in slot, but nothing works.

I´ve build my cable with the original psp remote controller cable, with one mod. i´ve cut of the pin connector for the headphones, in high of the serial connector, so i can hear music too when i´ve connectet the gps device. Since i´ve cut this, map this says no to my gps device, but over this connectors nothing comes thru. And, i´ve said it, in your gps viewer app. its funct. wonderfull... I hope you can help me! :-[

Is the red light blinking on Holux? Perhaps, it just did not lock on to any satelites...
Does it still work with the "green screen" test program?
May be you shorted something while connecting the headphone wires...?
If nothing helps, you may want to post your problem at my forums@dcemu..
Perhaps other users can give your more suggestions there...

Hi MapThis! users. Small query - would it work (or is there a trick) that would
allow this application to run on PSP system with system software version 2.80 - or the only option is to downgrade ? Any hints ?

Deniska, congratulations for your 1st place!
it is really a good program and you will have worked a lot for this, I have a suggestion for a future version, if it is possible (as always haha), to create files of languages of the menu of MapThis! and this way to translate it to different languages (for example, I could translate it to Spanish)
It could also download the source code and to translate but I see it more difficult if one doesn't know how to program...

You can try to use it if it has serial (not USB) interface...
You'll need to figure out the wiring though...(power, TX voltage adjustment, etc)
The DIY setup that I have is geared towards holux receivers..
