sm-21 Down to the wire (its 11:47pm here).

Here is my entry sandbox. Sadly I hoped to polish it more but there is only so much you can do on such little time. I do plan to update this game again this compo since I would like to make it better.

Sorry the filesize is large. Its because of AT3 music files

I've tried twice. This site keeps timing out when I try to upload my entry. Sad

Please dont DQ me if for some reason the yousendit link dies.

Forgot to mention. One of the big things about Sandbox is alot of the game is controlled by theme.ini files. You can create your own themes for any of the suported game modes or you can modify exsisting themes.

My favorite is Demolision. Cant wait to see what themes people come up with. As is my theme maker when crazy and did the best he could over a 3-4 day period.

Nice game, but how do I play it?
I select the different game modes but I can't quit back to the menu.
Am I missing something?

Oh yeah, and whats with not being able to play music unless I've got a UMD in the drive, strange!?!
I don't own a UMD so I don't know if I'm missing out on some great tunes!  Undecided

Heh. There is no return to menu atm. Sorry it was that or add bowling. I am gonna fix that this week.

Regarding the lack of UMD. This is because of the at3 prx modules. There is only 2 ways to load, In kernal mode you can load from flash, in user mode you can only load from a umd. I choosed user mode & wrote code to search for the proper prx on the inserted umd (since they dont reside in the same place each game) so my app can still be compatible with 2.0+ units.

I think its the best option for the compo. I will later release a kernal build for thoes on 1.5 that dont wish to keep a umd on them.

Could you also release a no music/less music version so that it doesn't take up to megs? It's an awesome concept, but with so little to do, I can't justify 20 megs for it.

i'll give it a whirl but I think if you delete the at3 files it should error out and still run.

I just tested. Just delete the at3 files (1 in menu folder and 1 in each theme folder) and the game will still run fine.

Even tho the compo is over, i'm not giving up on my game.  sm-21

Anyways, I am planning an update for my game to fix issues people were having. If you've played the game already and know a few things you would like changed. Let me know. The link below goes to a request topic on my forum.

I'm just gonna make a quick request list here, because I'm not registered on DCemu.

- return to menu
- Flesh out modes
As it is now, the game a is merely a themeable tech demo for the most part. Which is cool, but there should be more. For instance, perhaps let us place the blocks we want to destroy in Demolition? And add more ways to destroy than with the TNT block. Also, Space battle. add a health bar. make it a goal to destroy then enemy.

That's it for now. Love the game though Cheesy .

Not quite sure I follow on Demolision mode.

I agree on space since that was the plan but now i am thinking to drop it because I see very little can be done with it (other then maybe putting obsticles in the way.

Can someone tell me where the game is?
Is there an extra download or something I'm missing?
It seems people are voting for it, so there must be a game there somewhere!?! sm-04

Meh, keep space. Even if it's small this is basically a minigames collection, right? Maybe change the camera so both ships/whatever can be seen and do two player 1 psp?

With Demolition right now, you have that stack of blocks with the TNT under them. You can move the TNT around, and then explode it to affect the pile of blocks. I'm suggesting instead of just moving the TNT, let us move and place the blocks we destroy. We could build whole structures, then explode them, instead of the same old tower over and over. I also suggested destructed methods other than TNT. Think different types of guns, a tank, etc.

Also, any way to release a quick return to menu fix? I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow and would love to have a fixed version before I go. Smiley
