Whoa there tiger, i totally understand where you are coming from. However EVERY backup device known so far is never perfect from the get go. Especially new released product.
The cool thing about many of the backup devices out right now is that they have dedicated teams for fixing and solving all problems that come up. I can honestly say I am very impressed with what the Neo2-SD CAN DO as opposed to what it can't do (yet!!!). It DOES fulfill all the things they stated from the get go. It runs clean roms frm the SD card. Sure we have a bug with RANDOM freezing of VARYING frequency but thank god we aren't stuck with it like that!
Its difficult to future proof a product like this since things are always changing. When you buy a backup device your not just investing in the final product itself but the team supporting it. There is no "Buy and Forget" solution for the DS and EVERY backup product out there has a team that is always updating the software/firmware.
So as a word to the wise, buy the device that has the features your looking for and a team you can trust. The best way to develop that investment decision is like what we are doing here, communication on webforums so on so forth.
Best of luck to all of you!
