game backups
« on: April 20, 2007, 07:58:04 PM »
Since this is my first post I would first like to say Hi!  Now onto the message...

I looking to produce my own Nintendo DS game backups and I had a question.  If I got both the MK4-Mini and the Neo 2 TF adapter would this allow me to backup my NDS games?  I don't want to do just the saves.  I would like to backup the entire game and play them back on the cartridge.  Thanks.

I don't know if Neo Max supports this, but I do know that Neo Power Kit has problems saving a ROM.  I've tried it.

And yes, you CAN do it, but you need an extra program(I forgot where it was)

Thanks for the info.  I'm going to be doing this on an NDS Lite so I will need to do this with the newer stuff.  I want to be sure that it can work.  If anyone has tried it with that combination then let me know.

Oh and I have 2 dumper programs.  One is WRT Dumper and the other is for my M3 Perfect Lite that I already have but doesn't work because I don't have a PassMe device.

EDIT:  I should correct my last statement.  It isn't that the wrt-dumper won't work.  It is more that it only seems to want to dump gba games.  I press start on my M3 perfect lite and it goes black (no text) and if I press A it prompts me to switch to the gba cart I want to dump.  The m3/g6 nds dumper manages to get to the spot where it prompts to reinsert the cartridge but keeps saying it isn't the same cartridge and never goes forward.  It manages to place non-deletable data on my microsd card too so I've had to format the card after using that application.

the darkfreak ain't correct, where talking about the neo2-tf, not neomax cards, the neo2-tf menu has a rom dumping feature with the newest menu

Will the mk4-mini and neo2 tf combination work for dumping nds games then?  I would like to be sure before I spend my money that it will work.

Will this allow it to save to the computer? I am a newbia at this nds lite  tuff. Wii, x-box, 360 I have done but not the nds lite. And will you need any other programs to do the back-up of the nds rom?

Actually I never did get this kit.  There are other ways to do it and as of late you can do this without even modifying your Nintendo DS Lite handheld.  This has been proven by myself and a few others.

P.S. - I'm locking the topic.  Thought I did that the last time.
