Holy ****, V1 was HARD, V2 is still hard, but just slightly not as hard.  Should have a mode with no timer, a mode without those white things following the lines, and then a mode without both just to relax and uncover pictures with just the guys in the middle.

Damn, I'm sorry to say so, but I really prefered the first version difficulty... With simple techniques you can't loose anymore. Bosses and spikies are too easily avoidable and killable...

Anyway, the going-back control is cool, it allows you to avoid nasty spikies pretty often. I love all the Nintendo backgrounds and bosses. Great game that needs small improvements but it is really fun!

Maybe you should vary levels, like starting from a block in the middle of the screen, or from the top screen, or something like that, just to make the levels different from each other. Because except for the size of the bosses and the backgrounds, it's about doing the same thing all along. I think you should lock some levels too, to make some kind of progression.

Thank you for adapting this lovely game!

This is a great game.  Probably the most fun to play of all the games in the competition.  There's no real bugs in the game and presentation is all top notch and of course Qix is one of the best game concepts ever so it's nice to have a quality version of it on the DS.

Has it gotten even easier, though?  I haven't played it since version 2, but I already thought that was too easy.  People who were still complaining about the difficulty in that version probably didn't realize that there's actual strategies that you have to use to do well in a game like Qix.  Yes, the first version was very hard, but it was possible to beat every screen if you played well.  If the game is only going to have a single difficulty level, then it should be hard or else there's no challenge in the game, right?

It would be better if the difficulty increased every time you beat a screen, though.  Shouldn't be hard to do.  There seems to be some randomization in the way the enemies move, so just increase that randomization with every level so that it becomes harder for the player to predict where an enemy will be.  Starting out with fewer enemies onscreen is okay, too, but it should be up to three spikes, two sparks and the boss by the fifth or sixth level, I think, because with any less it's just not really very chellenging.

If you wanted to make the game easier, I would have suggested to first look at the way the player has to move from one line to another.  As it is now (actually, like I said, I haven't played it since v2, maybe it's fixed by now) the player has to be positioned with absolute pixel perfection before they can move out onto a line that meets the one they're on.  This is especially frustrating because if you're on pixel off and try to move back, you usually move back two pixels and then you're one pixel off on the other side and every time you try to reposition yourself you end up just a little bit off where you need to be.  I've died many times because of that.  It would be better if you could move out to another line if you're on any of the three closest pixels.

I also noticed that sometimes an enemy kills you even though it didn't really hit your line.  In situations where the enemy is mostly striking a completed line and would normally bounce away, the player shouldn't be killed just because one corner of the enemy's hitbox comes in contact with the line you're drawing.

Well, despite those things that make the game a little more frustrating than it needs to be, it's still a great release.  I'm having a hard time deciding what game to vote for as my favorite for the compo, but this is the one I've had the most fun with, so I'll probably vote for it.

By the way, in Porn All-Stars, I didn't recognize any of those women.  Are you sure they're all-stars?
