USA Roms Japanese Console

I cannot seem to run any USA roms on my Japanese machine (Supergrafx). They all lock up. I have tried decrypting and all that fun stuff with PCE toy etc. Does anyone know of a solution for this? Will have I have hardware region mod my machine? Will that even help?

You need to use hacked ROM versions to get US games working on a Jap machine, and there are many of these available if you know where to look. It's the same rules as with the hucards themselves - the US ones won't work on a Supergrafx.

You can edit your USA roms with an hex editor
Search this string : $78 $54 $A9 $FF $53 $01 $AD $00 $10 $29 $40
and after the string replace $F0 with $80
The you can burn your rom and play it on japanese hardware

It will be cool if the Neo Team had an option to patch USA roms in the PCE Flash Card software

This string is not present in Air Zonk or Space Harrier ROMs. Is there another string I should look for?

Is there a utility that will auto edit the strings for multiple games automatically?

No must be done with a hex but it takes less than 3 seconds to do a ROM.
