in the DSSYSTEM folder there is a file named global.ini in the seccond line of text that states: "MENU3D=0" you should chenge to 0 into a 1, and save it, be carefull not to change anything else.
I can't remember if the mk5 supported different background images
I shall see if I can find anything, haven't worked with the mk5 in a long time .
PS You can change the colors of the text to. play with the numbers a bit. Remember to make a backup of the file though, might it go wrong.
Edit:
for changing the images you should make a folder called "skin" in the DSSYSTEM folder.
They have to be images ending on .bmp and have specific names and sizes and color type:
BMP file format:
c_file.bmp it's upside background picture,BMP format, 256pix X 192pix , 24bit color
desktop.bmp --- it's downside background picture,BMP format,256pix X 192pix , 24bit color
save_bg.bmp --- it's the SMS background picture,BMP format,256pix X 192pix , 24bit color
Can't find the proper rainbow images, maybe you can find other rainbow images
