Nickname: teamsushi Projet name : Sushi Rubik From : Canada Division : PSP Game Original enter : YES Support Motion : NO In last NEO Compo this project have won in the top 10 : NO Project description: A virtual Rubik Cube game for the PSP by Team Sushi.
Here is a fun little project that I made in the fall, but never got around to releasing. I've tuned it up, and I think it works well. So enjoy.
A virtual Rubik Cube game for the PSP by Team Sushi. http://www.teamsushi.org/
Features: - 3x3x3 classic Rubik's Cube simulator - default controls can update all but back face without rotating, with two alternate sets of controls. - undo/redo all moves - save/load current cube in progress - timed challenge from a scrambled cube, and freestyle solving modes - recorded high scores for timed challenge, compare with your best time - beginners solution style autosolve - 4 visualizations of cube state for a background - estimate of moves remaining for a beginner's solution - animated rotations - works in French or English
The cube shows either the left face, front face and top face, or it shows the left face, front face and bottom face.
Auto solve does a beginner's style solution for the cube to solve the top layer cross then top layer corners then middle layer edges, then bottom edges, then final corners.
Edit: added submission header, and screenshots.

Rubik looks good, not much interest for me though..
Resonate on the other hand.. This looks great, Rez is my favorite game of all time. I've started Rez-a-like projects before, never progressed this far though.
Can't wait for a release.
(I would have posted this as a comment on your site seeing as it's not relevant to your compo submission, but you have mandatory registration but no way to register )

Uh, someone somehow managed to make a comment. Must have been a bot I guess. It is supposed to be moderated, but not require registration I guess. I should have a version of Resonate ready this week still.
The autosolve is fun to watch, even if you're not a cube head.

The one comment I saw on your blog was actually a trackback/pingback, where another blog links to your site (which can be abused by bots too unfortunately).
But anyway, your projects look good, keep it up

If fixed commenting on my site, I think, and added something to fool the bots with any luck.

Heyas, this looks interesting and I was hoping that your team would look into adding motion kit controls to this.
It seems like turning the cube via the motion kit would work fairly well and there are so few programs that could take advantage of it as well as yours could.
Hope to get this working later, thanks.

I'll definately be getting a motion kit in the next month or two. I'll keep the sushi rubik game in mind for adding motion to. It could be fun.
