I give overview reviews of the following:
Concept Presentation Sound Gameplay Lasting Appeal
Overviews points are merely, guides to show if the game has strong points in a category. If an entry got a low score in one part but high in another don’t worry.
The only official listing score would be: Neo bonuses Overall scores
Which would be added to the Final Score.
Overall Scores, are not the average score of all given overview points. Overall Score is computed for what the author has planned to make, so that on games that judging on games that have rare times to actually show its graphical capabilities (Puzzle games) and games that can show graphics in each portion of the game (Platformers and action games) would be much fair.
Video Games Hero Sumiguchi
Recommended read review here instead: http://coffee.pinoyforum.net/review/NEO_VGH.htm P.S. The links on the webpage doesn’t work.
Rhythm games are hot! With games like Rock band, DDR, and Guitar Hero, around the console, its inevitable that the DS would get some of it's share. Video Game Hero is exactly our share. If you were to ever catch the rhythm game rave you would surely either like or entirely love this game.
Although, at some parts VGH is not graphically perfect, but the imperfectness is only few, VGH is pleasing. The first time I saw it running on my DS, I was amazed. You actually feel the sprites going towards your way, and who doesn’t loved that glossy floor. My favorite eye candy on VGH is definitely the floor. The glossiness, the doodles, and the glow it was perfect. There are imperfect parts, though. Like are went you focus enough, you get this feeling that they almost feel like they are not touching the ground. So at times I kept thinking before tapping the button while I was looking at the bottom of the capsule sprites. Another part I felt was lacking is when you hit the capsule, there are sprites that pops out from the ground. I wasn’t sure if those are fireworks or something. The effect wasn’t that satisfying and doesn’t quite feel right. But in the end it's flaw is so minor, that it doesn’t actually matter.
The game play is more like the guitar hero console game, Furthermore, less than the DS counterpart. For a number of people this is certainly better, as a lot hates the DS peripheral.
In VGH the game play is simple; there are incoming capsule-like shapes from afar. The idea is to tap the correct button if a particular capsule is near or in a particular spot. Again, if you compare it to Guitar Hero there are a few things that it lacks, like long notes (Notes where you hold the button) and pressing 2 and more buttons to tap at the same time. It Sound’s simple and plays simple, in rhythm games simplicity is always a hit, but without a good rhythm feel the hit would end up into a miss.
Thankfully, VGH is not one of those. VGH has a nice rhythm feel. You'll tap on high Sound peaks, and tune will continue playing. If you don’t the tune would stop until you successfully hit another beat. Muting on mistakes gave the gave some nice There are over 60 songs from various genre and games. Even if you don’t like some of the happy song, you'll bound to have fun on others, like metal songs. 8.0 Concept Platform gamers find timed jumps a entertaining, and, Rhythm gamers, find timed clicks a satisfiying. The Concept aint stylish, new or even unique. Yet, it gave a very relaxing yet interactive feel to the player. It basically what Rhythm gamers want, and it was executed nicely. 8.5 Presentation Yeah, it lacks at some parts, but mostly the graphics is very fluent. It doesnt have a wow factor for many, but looking at those 16 bit graphics on the DS, sure is nice. 9.5 Sound Crystal crisp Sound, and some nice remixes. The only thing it lacks is vocals, but even without it, the songs are quite superb. VGH's song list also have attractive songs for each individual of the genres. 9.0 Game play It’s simple and fun to participate in, and also very portable to play on short runs. The Higher difficulty is also very entertaining for experienced gamer of the genre. 10 Lasting Appeal Depending how you love this game, you just don’t have 60 songs if you add the different modes and difficulty would have 1200+ levels. Closing Statements Video Game Hero was the 3rd rhythm game, Sumiguchi, the author, had made but all thanks to those previous tries; he was able to make a masterpiece. VGH is another rhythm game that proved how good the DS is on rhythm games (excluding, Sound quality on some games).Fans of the genre would come and come again and would be begging for more. Even though if you are not a fan of the genre, I would still recommend this. There is a big chance that it would introduce you to the rhythm game genre and would make you a fan. VGH is gold, and somehow I believe this is just the start of an incoming run of good homebrew games. +.50 Motion Bonus +.50 Original Entry Bonus
10 - Overall Score
11 - Final Score VGH is superb and certainly a blessing. Palib Developer, Sumiguchi, Graphics Artist, SpriteAttack, as a part of the scene I thank you for such an amazing piece.

StillAliveDS T4ils
10 - Concept StillAliveDS a remake (Portal Flash 2d) of a remake (Portal). You basically have the ability to make portals. The idea is, by using portals and physics help your self out and try to get the key cakes on the screen, then reach the goal afterwards.
9.0 - Presentation Well, it aint perfect, but the idea of skinnable graphics is awesome.
7.5 - Sound There is little to no music, but some of the Sound effects gave a very nice feeling of the game. The death Sound is nice, but gets annoying after a while.
10 - Gameplay Intellect and timing, is the key. It's a basic formula but game keeps on showing off new mechanics and great variety, it's just plain awesome.
10 - Lasting Appeal There are just too many reasons to keep on playing this game. The best one though would be user created levels.
Closing Statements The game is indeed a masterpiece. The newest additions made it even better. Guess who just finished this game using Chuck Norris! The game has little to no flaw. Although, the game still does the error when ever you point an object to the ground. The only thing that I think the game should have is multiplayer modes. A ghost speed run would be fun, or a game where you try to try to make the turrets hit the your multiplayer buddy or something.
+.50 Motion Bonus +.50 Original Entry Bonus
9.75 - Overall Score 10.75 - Final Score The idea of having Portal in your Pocket is just too awesome. I can't find ways to improve the game, its already perfect in all means.

Marble Noda
Have you tried that physics game called labyrinth where you have to guide a steel ball to the goal without it falling thru the holes? Hmm, maybe not, but how bout their video game counterparts? Super Monkey Ball? Neverball? Marble Madness? Well, then, how about Marble?
Marble is basically labyrinth with a tint of various video game elements. Moving balls, moving platforms, obstacles, and trick power-ups are all present in Marble. Your character, the ball, is controlled by either using the stylus (or motion if you have a motion cart). Using the stylus to move the ball around, you will have to touch the screen around the center of the touchscreen. How far you are in the center would make the platform tilt farther. The ball affected by gravity, so the farther the tilt is the faster the ball would fall towards that direction. A nice touch, the author added was that you could double the tilt you are applying to the platform, this is especially good for obstacles where speed is essiential. Also, whenever you release the stylus, the platform springs back to its original position, great for sudden stops.
Marble has tons of levels to play with. Some level are kinda frustrating and arent well designed compared to others. These maps at times asks too much precision. One level I played, recommends the player to guide the ball in one path alone. If you werent able to go thru the path you would be punished by the pinballs around you, and would make you lose via time.
There is a level editor, but it aint easy to use. Its not drag and drop, nor fast. The level editor feels incomplete, but dont worry this is only a demo, so its passable. Also, even though it might not that easy, you can bet some dedicated fans would still make new levels.
The game is nice, but the best thing Marble has to offer is it's Presentation. The game's graphics and Sound is very impressive. The graphics, although grainy at times, is impressive. The 3d engine is impressive, and a milestone to the community. The game shows full skybox that renders its surroundings beautifully. The ball, even, motion blurs and even with dual screen 3d the game moves without slowdown. Sadly, even how impressive the game is, because of how the game is played you are not able, to stop, enjoy the scenery.
Finally, the music is undoubtedly, one of the best, that graced the handheld. If you are homebrew developer, you should know what you are expecting. Noda is known to be the maker of ASlib. A library that helps developers to play mp3 on their homebrews. Here, Noda just shown how impressive he could be on music. It Sounds, if not alike, similar to psp. If you have played echronome, this game's Soundtrack is similar to it. Classical violin, etc. The music is so good I tend to play it, at my pc, alot. How the music fits into the game is simply like cake and tea. Individualy even without the other, it still tends to be good, but when together they supplement each other and thus gives a very impressive experience.
8.0 - Concept From point A to point B. Dodge and find ways across obstacles. The formula of classic games, and it works!
9.5 - Presentation Reminds me of the best looking 3D DOS games. Lacking at times, but beautiful at most. Marble is simply beautiful.
10 - Sound Classical music to its finest. Each time, I play the songs I feel intelligent. The tracklist is full of songs that doesnt use bass. The DS is somehow fluent on playing music but starts to lack whenever bass is played.
8.5 - Gameplay Perfection is the key. Race thru the obstacles and go for the finish.
8.0 - Lasting Appeal Lacks a little variety on some levels. Although you could play and gets some credits for new levels, you couldnt do much after that.
Closing Statements The game is not for all people but those who were able to enjoy maze and labyrinth games would find this one enjoying. If your not a fan of the genre, it might still be worth a try.
+.50 Motion Bonus +.50 Original Entry Bonus
9.5 - Overall Score 10.5 - Final Score Marble is fun, and simple. Maybe a little too simple though. If you played alot of labyrinth like me, there is a chance that you would get tired, but nevertheless Marble is superb. Also, another hands down to the great music. I bet this is only the start of era with homebrews that have high quality Sounds.

Element DS Lobo Kulucan
9.5 - Concept Slide each tile, and collide them to similar tiles to dissolve them. Dissolve all tiles to win.
8.5 - Presentation Neat and light graphics. The best part of the game might be the explosion particle. Never was I have been so satisfied by colliding blocks.
8.0 - Sound Outstanding and quite top notch, but it gets plain after a while.
10 - Gameplay The game has an intelligent and arcade-y feel. Unlike other puzzlers, this one has no movelimit and other distraction. Only pure fun and intelligence.
10 - Lasting Appeal Very addictive, I couldnt stop playing it. I just love each puzzle, I have no complains.
Closing Statements The game is so fun, that it has a big chance of being a cult classic. It's just too impressive. For those who are itching for turnbased puzzler, in the vain of Sokoban, this game would surely satisfy your taste. Maybe, the only thing it lacks is a full level editor. Its just plain fun.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
9.5 - Overall Score 10 - Final Score No doubt, Element DS is one of my favorites DS game, right now. Sadly, it seems that the game isnt gaining that much attention, even though, it deserves so. If you don't have the time in the world to try this, skip work and do so! It's that good.

Maouss DS Kukulcan Lobo
10 - Concept It's turnbased, and very fun. The movements of the objects are similar to pacman. The idea of the game is by figuring out paths using both your ship and your companion cube. For, those who played, Vague Rant, it is quite similar.
9.0 - Presentation The game is set on space. Similar to other sci-fi game, you are an evil klingon, that travels around the galaxy, destroying stars. Well not really but kinda.
8.0 - Sound Well, it's a good but it tends to annoy you at times.
8.5 - Gameplay Very intellectual and fun. If you love tile-based puzzle games, in the same vain as Sokoban and/or Chip's Challenge. This thing is indeed a huge play for you.
9.0 - Lasting Appeal Each level, although looks the same, they differ in solutions. Which gives variety, on each play and level, but the novelty would run out after knowing a level's solution.
Closing Statements No doubt, this game is one of the best homebrew I played. Yes, it is simple, but the simplicity gave a great feeling of relaxation. Which is the main idea of playing games. The game is also very portable, you can take a nice long walk outside and while playing this game. There is nothing to graphically focus in the game, but the idea is for you to take the whole game in your mind. The only complain, which I have for the game is the graphics, although childish, I find this game better with fun animal characters. The scifi theme is fine, but not perfect. Similar to The Adventures of Lolo and Crocodingus in Cube Island. Just think about it, Penguins in an icey floor is much more fun than a floating cube, and an mach-9 spacecraft.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
9.4 - Overall Score 9.9 - Final Score Maouss DS is indeed one of the best homebrew game so far. The graphics only lacks a fun atmosphere rather than a serious one, also the music needs a little more tuning. Kukulcan, if you would ever make an expansion or a sequel, announce it and I'll freaking dance.

XumpDS the Final Run Reppa Kulucan Lobo
8.0 - Concept A simple puzzle game where you try to dissolve the whole floor by moving thru each tile.
7.0 - Presentation It looks quite nice. My only complain was how distrubing the moving background was.
8.0 - Sound Plain but isnt special.
8.0 - Gameplay Very fun, if you ever feel like playing quick games on the go. Xump is a great game.
7.0 - Lasting Appeal Nice level designs and level amount. It's nice to play from time to time but not on consecutive plays. The background is too disturbing.
Closing Statements This game would be received nicely by fans of the puzzle genre. The first impression I had was the game was similar to many of Nintendo's Adventure and RPGs where you walk thru multicolored floors and make turn them into only one color.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
9.3 - Overall Score 9.8 - Final Score Pick and play at it's best. If you ever wanted, to play tidbits of Almost Zelda-like puzzles XumpDS, is for you.

Crocodingus In Cube Island PXLteam madpxl birslip
Remember those push crate games we always get on each damn console and get satisfied on all levels? Yeah, I'm talking about Sokoban, and maybe Chip's Challenge. I was so happy to heard that Brain Age had Sudoku, and was so shocked that they were different. And then there's Crocodingus in Cube Island, it ain't Chip's Challenge or Sokoban, but it has similar elements to them.
The idea is to help Crocodingus towards the goal, but it aint easy. In all levels you need to get all bananas first before being able to open the goal. Kinda like the keys from Chip's Challenge. After a while the game introduces the player to it's puzzle elements. The first puzzle you'll come across is the crate pushing. The idea is to sink the crates above underwater spikes, if done correctly this would make a new path for you to cross.
One of the best aspect of experiencing Croco is the graphics. The graphics is indeed stylish and beautiful. If you ever tried playing it, you would surely be impressed. Croco's graphics is simple, the characters and environment are just simple cubes done right. The background is colorful and stylish. While the bottom screen shows the Gameplay, the top screen simply shows how many life are left. The top screen lacks so much content that it felt something is missing.
The major feature that is lacking on the game, are minimaps. I highly suggest the authors to add a map on the game. I tend to go around circles in the game alot, and each time I feel lost I keep looking at the top screen for guides, but like I said the game lacks minimaps. It so easy to confuse yourself in a stage. There is no zoom out, no maps and alot of spots that looks the same.
8.0 - Concept Crocodingus In Cube Island, plays like a simplyfied version of Chip's Challenge. It's quite decent but not the best.
10 - Presentation Crocodingus is not complex and not a technicall marvell, but it sure is the best looking game around. I would even go far say that the game looks way better than any other DS game.
8.0 - Sound Well, the game's SFX and music, isnt that bad nor is it good. It's just too plain and decent.
8.0 - Gameplay Sadly, Crocodingus In Cube Island isnt that puzzling compared to Sokoban and Chip's Challenge. There are actions in some part to give a little variety in the Gameplay, but it fails to give entertainment.
8.0 - Lasting Appeal If you like the game you might repeat it, because there are still levels to unlock and stars to collect. But, if not you be satisfied by merely completing it.
Closing Statements With a team like birslip and madPXL how could you lose? If you dont remember birslip he made No Place To Hide. MadPXL in the otherhand has an awesome pixelart gallery. The game is visually impressive. Although, lacking in Gameplay, it is easily still one of best homebrew around. I hope PXLteam would update this game, because it feels a little incomplete. I can't wait for the next game of the Crocodingus, the 2d platformer looks promising.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
8.8 - Overall Score 9.3 - Final Score Crocodingus is awesome, if you have a flash cart, go and try it. I'll bet you like it, but after completing it you would be left somehow unsatisfied. PXLteam, please create a sequel or even an expansion, Crocodingus is good, but lacking.

Legion Smealum Lobo
8.5 - Concept An isometric shooter
9.5 - Presentation Impressive graphics engine. Although, at some places the terrain just lacks too much details, it still looks awesome. No doubt that the engine is comparable to many commercial games.
8.0 - Sound Well, its pretty decent but it does the job.
10 - Gameplay Well, if you tend to hang on into the game. You find yourself playing a very satisfying game.
10 - Lasting Appeal Single player has a lot of modes to play with, but if you ever get tired you could always play multiplayer which is a very fun game.
Closing Statements Multiplayer is also one of the best I've played in the ds so far. The multiplayer has this tint of uniqueness on each play. You are not stuck on one playing style. I myself love to play stealthy on my online matches. Of course, you could freely shoot everybody and be a brute on your playing style. Well, that's the beauty of Legion, the author, gave many options on how the player plays the game. The only thing the game lacked was, a full 3d camera. I would love to snipe, n00beys on the onlineplay, also it would add ease for those who are currently playing singleplayer it.
No bonuses
9.25 - Overall Score 9.25 - Final Score The lack of neobonuses, lowered this, very fun game to reach top 3. I just hope the author wouldnt forget about this amazing homebrew. I want more releases, and have a zoomable camera.

Inside the Machine morukutsu
8.0 - Concept A simple platformer, using jumping and attacks go from point A to point B.
10 - Presentation The graphics is awesome. Looking at the screenshots, reminds me of those charming pixel art on deviant. The game greatly takes advantage of the alpha blending, and various colors. It looks, oh so amazing. The story is quite fun, also. The reason behind the title is just too awesome.
9.0 - Sound Well the Sound is very nice. Cute and fun all the way.
6.0 - Gameplay The game is nice, although not the best. It isnt special.
6.0 - Lasting Appeal Well, its too short, and doesnt have varations on levels. There is no other mode except the story mode.
Closing Statements There are some Gameplay issues, like jumping and combat. For a tiny animal, the little guy feels so heavy. He does float or anything. Whenever, you do jumps, he instantly falls after you release the jump button. Combat, also, have some issues. Whenever, the bunny cat, goes attack he reaches his tiny paws out, maybe about 5 pixels. The range looks too small, but actually there are more distance to it, but you couldnt see. Basically, the hitbox was disembodied. I honestly find it better if the combat was Mario-like. (Jumping on enemy, etc)
No Motion feature
+.50 Original Entry Bonus
8.7 - Overall Score 9.2 - Final Score The Presentation is superb, brilliant, and awesome. The level design is fun, but the Gameplay lacks polish.

NightFox's Colors NightFox Floats_Are_Devil SleepingFox
8.5 - Concept Stack similar tiles via rows, column, or diagonal, and the tiles, dissolves. The Gameplay is ideal for combos.
9 - Presentation The graphics is simply outstanding. Each section is grace with pure eyecandy. I just love it too much.
10 - Sound Outstanding, I simply love the music. Although at times it does Sound out of place.
7.5 - Gameplay Doing combos are certainly very satisfiying and addictive, but it wasnt as deep as I thought it would be.
7.0 - Lasting Appeal Well, its just too easy, and too long for a game to end.
Closing Statements A puzzle game comparable to the Deep Combo Puzzlers, like Puzzle Fighter, Puyo Puyo, Tetris Attack / Puzzle League, and Lumines. One of the best aspects of the game was the controls. Its just too polished. And, yeah the game is just too easy. One time, I spammed the screen just to lose, but at the last draw, a special tile appeared which as the ability to wipe out a lucky color. Well, it did gave me a very satisfiying combo, but it lacked the challenge. If only this had multiplayer it would instantly add challenges as well as more Gameplay.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
8.6 - Overall Score 9.1 - Final Score Simply one of the best Combo Puzzlers out there, but the easy difficulty just destroyed the fun. And, sadly the wouldnt be more releases (Night Fox’s Colors Final), so chances of multiplayer are slim.

Mastermind DS GuSec
8.5 - Concept You have 8 tries to guess what are the colors in each slots. Each try would hint the player, if one or more, color is correct.
8.0 - Presentation The graphics is indeed, eyecandy. Definitely, one of the great aspects of the game. Although the scrolling graphics are kinda annoying at times.
6.0 - Sound There are Sound effects, but it doesnt work that well. There is no music.
8.0 - Gameplay Very nice Gameplay. There no flaws in the actuall game, but replaying after a game was kinda slow and a hussle.
8.0 - Lasting Appeal The replay value is kinda awesome. You don't know how many times, I kept playing this game. Its very addictive, even without scores and other bonuses.
Closing Statements The game is strangely addictive. I really liked the way, the author made use of the Vertical DS. Multiplayer and a scoring system would sure make this game awesome.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
8.5 - Overall Score 9.0 - Final Score Even though, incomplete. The game is super fun. I can't wait for a new version to pop-up. Now excuse me, I'll go and play more Mastermind.

Crack Attack samel
9.5 - Concept The game is a port of Crack Attack, which is Tetris Attack clone, and basically it. Match 3 tiles, match more tiles, and combo.
8.0 - Presentation Very nice. The sprite and gui is quite relaxing to look at. The sprite tiles is great both Gameplay and graphically. The graphics greatly aids the player by being able to see different symbols instead of colors alone
7.0 - Sound Even its Generic, it gets annoying after a while.
8.5 - Gameplay The game offers a fast paced tile matching. Which is also quite deep, as you need to plan out combos.
8.0 - Lasting Appeal Although it doesn't have that much modes, but by playing Crack Attack itself is quite addictive.
Closing Statements Even, though Crack Attack has no stylus, netplay, local play, and landscape mode available. It is still a fun version. I just hope we get alot of major updates from this one. It would be awesome to have custom sprites and wallpapers.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
8.4 - Overall Score 8.9 - Final Score There is already a commercial version of this game available, Puzzle League DS. Even though this game is not as polished as the commercial counterpart, this free version is already good enough to satisfy those who havent own Puzzle League.
Escape Neumann Lobo
8.5 - Concept A text-less adventure game, where exploration is the fundaments and trial and error is a must. Try to see, what item goes to where or whom.
10 - Presentation Very nice, it got the look of those very nice adventure games. Some snapshots remind me, very much of LucasArt's Space Quest. It's always awesome to play as MAOUSS from MAOUSS DS once more. Again, a nice job by lobo.
7.5 - Sound The game has a nice background music, but the Sound effects is very unpleasant. You get to hear the same Sound effects, each second of the game.
7.0 - Gameplay It's fun, but very slow at times. The game, also becomes frustating at times when you dont understand what to do on a certain character.
6.0 - Lasting Appeal Well, it's very nice to play, with it short gamespan. As a adventure gamer, it got charms to make you finish it.
Closing Statements The adventure aspect of the game, is very nice. There are action snippets, it feels quite unnecessary, but it does give a nice change of pace on the game. At first, Im so confused on what to do on the game. I, recall, homebrewcast saying that the idea of the game is kill everything on the island. Well, thats not actually how to play. The idea is to give, items to various character, but, there is one character where instead of giving him/her (no spoilers here) something, you should kill him instead. There is no clue, on what to do, it's almost a pure guessing game. No character would talk, One of the nice aspect of the game is the easter egg, Im not sure if it is, though, but its nice too see an awesome person from the community around (yap, no spoilers here). Also the ending is very charming, it really captured the nice feeling of the glorious MS-DOS, days.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
8.0 - Overall Score 8.5 - Final Score If you fancy, adventure games, and don't mind guessing games. You would find the game, satisfiying as I did.
Game Trivia Catechism: SMX DesertDog
8.5 - Concept GTC is a casual quiz gamed aimed for the hardcore and softcore gamers alike. Unlike Geograpika, GTC is aimed for gamers. Which is, if not all, most of the homebrew community.
8.0 - Presentation GTC has an impressive art style, graphics and a nice story, but why not a better score? Well, at most of the time whenever, the game asks you to look at both of the screen, and tends make your eyes cross if you did so simultaneously.
8.5 - Sound Great music. It feels so game-y and 8-bit. If the author uploaded the music into his site, please tell me.
8.0 - Gameplay Even though, GTC, is only a quiz game the author was able to add nice Gameplay elements to it. The combo system is the perfect, example.
9.0 - Lasting Appeal There are alot of modes to choose from and they are quite unique from each other. It could have got a perfect 10, but it lacked polish on the actual game.
Closing Statements The game is lacking some parts mostly in graphics. Forcing the player to shift their at both is kinda, annoying at times. Whenever, I wanted to see the game's scenery during the novel scenes, I keep on looking each screen back and forth.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
7.9 - Overall Score 8.4 - Final Score The game is good and memorable. If the game's usage of both the it didnt bother, chances are you'll like this game.
***y Blackjack Trainer DesertDog
10 - Concept With the magical power of porn and gaming, you'll get to learn blackjack! I'm not exaggerating, I really love the idea.
8.0 - Presentation Glossy, 16 bit highly visible on both of your screens. Sadly, they are mainly static pictures.
6.5 - Sound I actually never noticed the Sounds.
6.0 - Gameplay I'm not actually sure if this is a game or not. At times it just felt like a e-book with a little Gameplay element.
7.0 - Lasting Appeal Well, after the basic and seeing some porn, it tends to become stale.
Closing Statements I'm a fan of JAV actress Sora Aoi. The Concept is probably the best, in this competition. Sure, maybe your thinking that I'm overating, but it indeed attracted me to finish the game. A little more execution and subjects the game would be awesome.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
7.8 - Overall Score 8.3 - Final Score Although after a certain period of time the novelty would fade, but honestly I want more. Just thinking of Learn Japanese with JAV Actress Maria Ozawa, is already making me excited.
DronS leinad / n00bey
7.5 - Concept DronS is simply Tron with, 3d graphics, and 3d angles. The idea is to trick the enemies, on hitting your trails, that you have created.
7.5 - Presentation Although, it lacks some visuals, like, 3d vehicle models, and glows. The graphics is pretty nice.
6.0 - Sound No Sounds at all.
8.5 - Gameplay Very fun. If you have, played Armagetron for the pc, you know what I mean. Although, sadly singleplayer aint that fun as multiplayer.
8.0 - Lasting Appeal You would the play the game alot, but only with friend. If you dont, chances are, you'll only play a few games.
Closing Statements Multiplayer is very fun, sadly singleplayer is not as fun. There are missing modes, like online play, and some graphics that I felt missing, like vehicles. But, as far as I could see the fundamental is already polished. Kudos to the author, I'm impatiently waiting for an update.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
7.5 - Overall Score 8.0 - Final Score Even with some flaws, I enjoy this game, but some may not. A little improvement, and an online mode, this game would be the best portable tron game I have ever played.
DSCube Sepro
7.0 - Concept It's Rubiks Cube. Each side should have only one constant color, there should be no more than one color located on the side.
8.0 - Presentation The game shows a simple yet nice looking 3d rubiks cube.
6.0 - Sound A few Sounds nothing special.
7.0 - Gameplay Depending on the player, this could be either fun or frustrating.
8.0 - Lasting Appeal There are features that would give you more Gameplay than playing it, in real life. But it still depends on the person playing it.
Closing Statements There are times that the controls are quite clumsy and would end you up rotating towards the wrong side. The game also has no ability to rotate the screen via stylus, which I find essential.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
7.4 - Overall Score 7.9 - Final Score It's great! It's awesome for people who are searching for ways to enjoy rubiks cube anywhere. But, if you love rubiks cube enough, chances are, you already are carrying a real rubiks cube, anywhere you go.
Legend of Beneshov Programix
8.5 - Concept Having a game that provides a similar feel to retro classic Final Fantasy 6.
7.5 - Presentation The graphic engine is solid, but there are too much placeholders. It's too early to judge it for now.
6.0 - Sound Plain Sound effects with no music.
7.0 - Gameplay It's fun, but its just too much of a demo than a full game. At times I tend to stop playing from the lack of motivation.
6.0 - Lasting Appeal Without the full storyline out, it just too hard to play it without motivation.
Closing Statements It perfectly emulates the fundamentals of the retro game classic Final Fantasy 6, although maybe a little too slow. It tends to be a very promising homebrew, that has the possiblity to become comparable to actuall DS games.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
7.3 - Overall Score 7.8 - Final Score It's too early for it. Although, I can't wait to play the final version. I would surely play it.
Totitoes Cortes48
8.5 - Concept The game is quite based off CarreRouge, where you evade sprites, and get points via time. On, Totitoes, your recieve scores by getting the collectables. The collectables could be found on the lower screen, while the sprites you should evade are on the top screen. When you drag your character on the touchscreen, the top also moves.
6.0 - Presentation Well, it's actually not that good. The grahics isnt much of a bother, except of the character sprite that you are moving. It's quite confusing what it is.
6.0 - Sound When I first started the game I was greeted by this awesome song, but after losing to the game. I get this, very annoying, "You Lose", tune.
8.0 - Gameplay It's quite fun, actually. This is the best among all of the other entries in terms of uniquely using the DS's dual screen and touch screen.
7.0 - Lasting Appeal Although, horrible in some aspects, I believe I would be playing this for a while on my spare time.
Closing Statements If you were able to ignore the game's weaknesses, you would find this game quite fun. I suggest, turning off the volume whenever you lose.
+.50 Motion Bonus +.50 Original Entry Bonus
6.6 - Overall Score 7.6 - Final Score It's very fun and innovative. Just add better graphics and remove the annoying music this would be better.
RapidRollDS wolped
8.0 - Concept Platforms and traps are rising. There is spikes on the ceiling and the floor is flooded(At least for me). What should a ball should do? Do a RapidRoll!
7.0 - Presentation RapidRoll's graphics is just too plain and simple. So simple infact that it looks like an atari game.
8.0 - Sound Well, it does have a nice music collection. Zelda is simply one of the best tracks I've ever heard.
8.0 - Gameplay The game is very nice, it's fun and time consuming. It is also meant to be played with skills.
6.0 - Lasting Appeal After 3 games, it would become repeatitive, but it does have hiscores.
Closing Statements The game lacks depth, but the game does have potential. With multiplayer and new elements, you can bet this game would be an awesome party game. Also, it would be awesome to play the game with motion. If the developer continues this, I'll play each major update!
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
6.5 - Overall Score 7.0 - Final Score It has potential, maybe its too early to rate this.
Geograpika morganDS
7.0 - Concept Basically, the game quizzes you about certain locations. It is aimed for a number of people.
5.0 - Presentation I reminds me too much of an Windows95 quiz game.
6.0 - Sound No Sounds at all.
7.0 - Gameplay The people who were aimed for this game would find it as a game of intellect. While, those who werent would find it as a guessing game.
7.0 - Lasting Appeal Depending, if you liked it, the game offers a number of questions to keep coming to.
Closing Statements There too little people who would like to play this, but I would sure love to have question other than Geography-related ones.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
6.4 - Overall Score 6.9 - Final Score If you like quiz games, you might find yourself a treat.
Dev-Fr Sliding Community Kulucan
6.5 - Concept You control a tile which you could move around the image. Each move you would make swaps both of the tiles. Plain and simple
8.0 - Presentation The game does have a very nice graphic sets, to play with.
6.0 - Sound Well, bluntly, the music is quite annoying at times. It feels that you are on a loop.
6.0 - Gameplay It's good but its just too plain. Its a sliding game that you have played so many times.
6.0 - Lasting Appeal Even though there are alot of stages, even before playing this. You already played a game which is similar to it, already.
Closing Statements This is the last entry of kulucan, for the compo. His other games were certainly one of the best homebrews around, but this one's the opposite. It's quite disappointing, actually. I now know that Kulucan delivers the finest homebrews. MAOUSS DS, Xump DS The Final Run, Escape, and Element DS is too outstanding to be compared with this game. Well, anyway you were outstanding on this compo, Kulucan, no doubt about it.
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
6.0 - Overall Score 6.5 - Final Score As a fan of kulucan's games, this is a disappointment, but, even so. For those of you, who love sliding puzzles, this is simply one of the best out there.
ManyChessDS Sephiroth_FF7
8.5 - Concept Play a chess in a number of unique varieties. It would be awesome to play these chess games anywhere.
7.0 - Presentation It does the job but it aint special. It kinda reminds me of the old dos chess games I kept playing.
6.0 - Sound No Sound at all?
7.0 - Gameplay Multiplayer is kinda fun. Eating kings are awesome.
5.0 - Lasting Appeal It has potential but for the time being you wont return.
Closing Statements It lacks for a Chess game, but for a first game and a techdemo. The developer did a nice job, 2 Player online or wireless. Amazing, don't you think?
No Motion feature +.50 Original Entry Bonus
5.7 - Overall Score 6.2 - Final Score Its too early, but when it's released as a full game. Consider me sold!
Feed Tux Mony
5.0 - Concept Throw the bounty feeds to tux's mouth ala hoops.
6.0 - Presentation While, the intro was very nice, the whole game doesnt have much eyecandy into it.
5.0 - Sound Quite annoying at times.
5.0 - Gameplay Even, if the game was very simple. The game isnt polished, stages asks you to get 3 bounty feeds on tux's mouth, but even if you have 2 feeds left and none got in, you still need to waste the remaining two.
4.0 - Lasting Appeal It does not contain bonus nor different modes, but the game does a skillful attraction to its Gameplay.
Closing Statements Feed Tux felt too incomplete. It have alot of weakness and almost no strengths at all.
No Motion feature
+.50 Original Entry Bonus
5.5 - Overall Score 6.0 - Final Score Maybe, it's too early to review. It feels too incomplete
