I just registered to say great work team neoflash  :)

However, I do think agree with radorn that it would be better if you could use a Compact Flash or SD card slot on the cartridge itself rather than having to use a NEO2 cartridge aswell. Surely it would work out cheaper overall than making a custom GBA cartridge port on the top of every cart? Compact Flash and SD ports are very cheap now, plus it will be more future proofed...

Can I ask if the firmware will be upgradable? Also will it be able to dump original N64 carts that are inserted into the back cartridge slot? and perhaps even dump the original cartridge save files aswell?

Please keep up the great work!

Also will it be able to dump original N64 carts that are inserted into the back cartridge slot? and perhaps even dump the original cartridge save files aswell? --- no,we will make a "N64 backup master" for dump rom , the N64 Myth cart just use the game cart for boot, not for dump.

Please keep up the great work! --- sure, you will see more and more new items will release soon.

Thanks for the replies Dr.neo  :-*

Wow, so two separate projects for the N64? Is there a separate news/forum for the 'N64 Backup Master' yet?

Also is there any chance the 'N64 Backup Master' will allow you to backup and restore original cartridge save files from 4kbit EEPROM, 16kbit EEPROM, SRAM and Flash save types? That is something I have wanted for a long, long time!

I really can't wait to buy the 'NEO N64 Myth cart' and 'N64 Backup Master', any idea of when both will be released?  ;D

Yeah it would be good to be able to backup the saves.  I get really confused with them on my dr v64 but I think it has a way to connect to pc to back them up anyway.  Sure is a lot easier with ps2 and dreamcast saves with the proper hardware but nintendo kept doing saves on cart sometimes rather than on jump pak :Z

As far as dumping games, not sure how much use there is for that.  I think everything is dumped by now besides maybe some really rare and obscure beta carts and such.  But I dunno I haven't really looked to see if anything needs redumps.  Nobody can really prove whether or not u are the original dumper of the cart you own too since it will have identical bytes on your mask rom as on a rom downloaded from the net. ;)

Nice work ;) The PI bus emulation is cake. The Saves are a real mess ;) FlashRAM is very similar to SRAM except reads and writes are handled in blocks and writes are done using a simple, standardized command structure.

The Z64 is a lot easier since you can back up to ZIP (or in my case, compact flash) and back up to a PC easily.

Here's a good page for info on save types and boot carts: http://n64.icequake.net/

There are several types of saves for N64 games: 4kb eeprom, 16kb eeprom, SRAM, FlashRAM, and Memory Pak. FlashRAM games (like Jet Force Gemini) require cracks, as do some SRAM games. I hope the Neo N64 flash can handle cracked save games and have some sort of save game manager

Will sure be cool to play the good ol' N64! I just found it packaged while clearing out some ****. So hi-jack some Neo-guys and get this show on the road!  ::sm-18.gif::

Dr Neo

Been following this forum specifically for this item for quite some time now -

Just wondering if there was any progress with this?

Would be awesome to get any new pics, tech info, release plans?

Anything would be great really – just so we know things are still in motion

We wait in anticipation!
