Anyone got a Neo2TF flash cart to test yet?

I'd be willing to buy one! :)

I was wondering the same , and i just ordered one neo2 twin + sl4 + TF instead SD.
Will report soon.

I was just wondering if there's been any progress on the enhanced menu.  I use my Myth cart on a daily basis, so I'd be more than happy to act as a tester if needed.

Yes , some things have been done.ChillyWilly was busy doing research for the n64 menu and at that time with some cool docs he sent me and some explanations on the scroll registers , i managed to create a camera interface with animation and also support for lzss compressed images -> to vram(using mic_'s 68K asm code).
And again with ChillyWilly's help an ABI related issue have been fixed , together with the tile  name-patterns.

So yeah there is a code base ready for additions , if that's what you're asking.

What Conle said.  :D

Remember that the enhanced menu is just that, enhanced. By being more involved, it also means that the first version won't be out quite as quickly as the current menu. I think I spoiled folks a little with how quickly that came together. Personally, I was a little surprised myself at how quickly that came together.

Eh , i cannot confirm it because i received the SD version instead TF  ~sm-31.gif~.
I have posted a message in ic2005 forums , but i don't plan to send it back , i will just keep it ... so im sorry that i cannot confirm it(my luck  ::sm-01::).

Also there is a bug with external SL IV , Neo ultra programmer freezes so you cannot use it to burn md/n64/gba roms to it.
 ::sm-02::

Even Madmonkey's menu hangs for some time but it burns nothing. ::sm-01::

This is weird , on Windows XP 32Bit it works great  ~sm-34.gif~.
I guess Windows 7 64bit  & external SL support is not that good.Or is it because i had installed NeoPowerKit + SL IV sys file like 2 years ago?

I doubt that that's the case. Its probably just 64bit compatibility issue.

Is the programmer running as an administrator? Sometimes Windows Vista/7 is pretty picky about that sort of thing.

Yes , i always run it as administrator. The programmer works with cart-attached SL IV , but for some reason external SL IV does not work at all with windows 7 x64.

Odd. I've used both the Myth and the SLIV that came with my Neo2-SD in XP without a problem. Perhaps they use slightly different drivers - I plugged the SLIV into a different port, and Windows keeps different drivers for USB devices on different ports.

Yeah , like i said , both SL IV + Md myth FC work on Windows XP 32Bit , but on Windows 7 x64 only cart-attached SL IV works.External SL IV hangs when you press the "burn" button and the programmer says to replug the cart & then says that the filesystem is damaged.

So external SL IV works only under 32bit os.

SL III from the other hand cannot even be detected by the programmer. ::sm-01::

Which version of the menu is included with V2.98 of the Windows app? It doesn't seem to be 1.1b6.

neo menu 223
strange thing is there is a string phantasy star 4 in the menu now, possibly indicating some sort of patch or sram support.

The cart originally comes with a few games on it burned to test the cart. You can just ignore them. I guess it's just so people can immediately plug it in to their Genny and run something. If you were forced to format and write the card before it worked, some folks might think it was broken because it didn't work out of the box.

I had been thinking about vgm/vgz playing in the enhanced menu. We certainly have the room for such a player. There's also LOTS of VGM/VGZ files out there.

That would be completely awesome. Some games don't have sound tests, so ripping music from them from an actual Genesis to WAV files is difficult. It should also have GYM support, too...

ChillyWilly, is there a limit on the number of files that the SD card part of the menu supports? I think it was mentioned elsewhere, but I can't find that comment on the forums.

In my case, I put the entire No-Intro Mega Drive and 32x collection on to the SD cart (I changed the extensions to .bin, since No-Intro uses .md for all of its Mega Drive files and .32x for 32X files). The menu took awhile, but it eventually listed most of them. I assume it's loading the entire list into memory or something (which would be bad for this many files)? At the end of the list, it indented some of the filenames in the list, and didn't list the rest. I was unable to run any of them... pressing either of the run buttons didn't do anything.

The menu works fine if I have less files on the SD cart (haven't done extensive testing, so I don't know the magic number).

Here's a visual representation of the end of the list:

AAA.bin
BBB.bin
FILE1.bin
       FILE 2.bin
             FILE 3.bin

I would put actual filenames in to make it realistic or take a screengrab using my capture card, but I'm not at home right now. >_>

Anyway, I want to know if this is a confirmed issue, and whether future 'basic' menus would solve the issue so I can fill up my 8GB SDHC card with all of the ROMs I can find. Or, perhaps, this is an enhanced menu feature you're working on?

magic number is 401 per directory.
you can organize your roms so there are no more than 401 roms in any given directory, then it will be fine.
