Which SD cards work with the current MD Menu

OCZ 150x 2GB SD (OCZSD150-2GB) works great with b5 and b6 of the menu.  Might work in earlier versions to, but I haven't tested them.

If I remember correctly, the file system I use for the menu currently has a limit of 32GB.

32GB is also the current maximum size for SDHC cards.  While the theoretical limit of SDHC is ~2TB, the current specification does not allow for those sizes.

The new SDXC format has recently been introduced to provide capacity over 32GB. 

Fact is, there's no reason to have that much storage for the MD Myth.  You can have the full USA, JPN and EUR sets on a 4GB card.  Even if you start going homebrew crazy, I can't think how you could possibly fill up a 32GB card for this purpose.

There is a limit of 400 something (forget the exact number) ROMs per folder, so you have to divide them up to hold them all. This is a menu/RAM limit and not a limit of the file system.

and ur right goldenegg, 4GB is more than enough!, unless someone figures a way to run megacd isos off the sd!.

I'll think about SDXC when you can get a cheap SDXC card at WalMart. 

As mentioned, 32GB should be more than enough for now. Even with homebrew taking advantage of the SD card, 32GB is way more than the average person would use.

That said, if someone DOES provide a valid reason to do more, I'll look into it.

LFN support is being added to the deluxe menu. And yes, SD cards are slower than flash. Right now, you get about 50 KB/sec transfer from the SD card. The theoretical raw transfer rate (discounting file system overhead) is a bit more than 100 KB/sec. The SD card has to be read by the CPU without any extra hardware support, which limits the speed. A 7.7MHz 68000 simply can't read an SD card that fast by itself.
