X.Z64 Data verify wrong!

When ever i try to burn a rom to the cart i get the error "Data verify wrong!" just as it finishes burning. So can i assume that the program does an integrity check after burning and i my case it keeps failing? Formatting the cart on either winxpsp3 or win7 seems to make no difference, im using the V2.89 software. I replaced the yellow cable that came with the cart and i dont receive any errors before the integrity check after burning. Im burning small sized .Z64 roms, so im out of ideas as to how to fix this.
Is anyone else getting this error?
Is there a way to fix this?

I already said in the OP that i replaced the dodgy yellow usb cable that came with that cart.
Any other ideas?

Is that a typing error or you're using v2.89? Because the latest version is v2.98.

Sounds strange. Try this:

1. Unplug the Neo N64 Myth Card from your PC.
2. Download v2.98 of the software and run the setup.
3. Uninstall the device.
4. Restart your PC after uninstall is complete.
5. Install it again and lookout if you can choose between different drivers. (I am using Windows 7 64Bit and could only choose one)
6. Run the Menu and look if the program recognizes the Myth card.
7. Go to the format tab and choose "Menu Format" -> Standard format and "Rom Format" -> Low level format and press Neo2 Format.
8. Check if the program tells you that the cart was verified.
9. Try to burn a Rom from your region (pal or ntsc). Try to use a good rom with an [!] in the name.

Report here to see if anything changed.

Be sure to use either a USB port on the motherboard, or a powered hub. Anything else won't have the power to allow for good burns.
