Dr Neo,

What special chips are supported by the SNES Myth Cart? Is FX and FX2 supported?

I would be interested in the specification of the cart also. From the screenshot Dr. Neo posted,  it implies that SA-1 Games (e.g. Super Mario RPG) are working, but considering the first test results from several users, non of the special chip games are working correctly. So please Dr. Neo can you bring some light into this explaining what type of games this cart is supporting?

Thanks.

I think one of the problems may be that the programmer does not yet recognize certain kinds of DSPs when you add the ROMs that require them.  But there are at least 7 DSP types listed as available in this early programmer (I imagine all should be supported soon with proper names, they are just DSP1-7 at the moment) and Dr. Neo has shown it's working with Super Mario RPG so I'm confident that the feature will be available soon (if not already, I may not be utilizing the SA-1 functionality correctly).

But to say none of the special chip games are working would be incorrect: every DSP-1 game I have tried (with Super Mario Kart attached) has worked fine so far.

Well, maybe it's meant to work with specific games with special chips? I have Pilotwings with the same DSP-1 chip and it doesn't work well. I'll have to get a copy of Super Mario Kart to test it.

Hm, well when I added Pilotwings the programmer detected it as "DSP-3" instead of "DSP-1", but it worked fine with Super Mario Kart attached.  And I honestly only checked if the SMK rom booted past the Nintendo chime, I need to see if the track displays properly still.

I'll also need to watch some videos of Pilotwings or emulate it to see if everything is working properly.  As far as I could tell, it was fine, but I have never owned the game and have only really played Pilotwings 64 so I wouldn't have caught any inconsistencies.

Here is a video of Pilotwings in action. I've tried running Pilotwings while using a Pilotwings cart for the DSP-1. I'm assuming that Super Mario Kart is the intended DSP-1 cart needed for DSP-1 games, right? I'm wondering why other games with the DSP-1 chip (Pilotwings, etc.) don't work well yet. I'll play around with the DSP settings in the programmer to see if I can get any results.

P.S. Why is there 7 DSPs to choose from? There was only 4 DSP chips (6 if you count the DSP-1A and DSP-1B revisions).

Make sure that you're using plain binary images & not interleaved!

I think you're a bit late.Dr.Neo said that the first batch had limited stock and they sell only in Japan for now, so you might be out of luck in getting a free sample unit
 :'(

You can subscribe to ic2005.com shop and when the item has enough stock and can be shipped worldwide you'll receive an email. But of course you will have to pay for it.

Hope this answer helped a bit, since you're a new member. ~sm-36.gif~

In preparation for my snes myth arriving, I thougth I'd set up my old Neo2-256M with a couple of games. However I keep getting USB errors at random points during the burn process. Does anyone else have this problem?  Are there any solutions?
Oh, I'm using Windows 7 64bit.
