There was a compiler for the snes back when games were still being made which was homebrew and one would have had to pay money for it back in the day. I forgot if it was ASM or C now though it has been too long. But on the other hand, people in SNES chat rooms back then made up a lot of BS so it is hard to tell if there actually was a final product. Especially since nobody ever pirated it lol. They made you think there was enough respect in the scene to never pirate that but why would there be honor among pirates? there's no rules with that
