ChillyWilly! I just tried the deluxe menu for the first time. Great work!

Could you add in that timer that waits to load the game info when you select a game until you hover over it for a second or so? It takes forever for it to show up, which makes scrolling awful. Maybe the Neo2 hates my SD cart...

EDIT: Just noticed that it's in there. :D I dunno if it works for scrolling through pages, though. Give me a second... I'll give you more comprehensive feedback...

EDIT2: Alright, here are some problems/suggestions:
1) When entering a directory, the timer does not apply to the first item in a directory. Meaning, if I repeatedly hit down on the D pad after entering a directory, it gets stuck on the first item until its information loads.
2) The timer is very unforgiving and short. You may want to increase it to at least twice its current value.
3) Could you make it so that holding down/up will scroll through the list? As it is now, I need to mash the down or up key to get to an item in the middle of the screen.

Thank you so much for making this!

Go bug Conle via PMs about it. I had perfectly decent code for that until he decided it needed to be more complex.  ~sm-79.gif~.gif  ~sm-82.gif~.gif

Seriously, he'll be working on that for the next release, so leave him a PM with the "bugs" you found with the timing.

I'll have it fixed in less than 24hours , if you can compile code you can even try it without waiting for a proper release  ~sm-81.gif~.gif

Hi

I'm really interested about the option to run the games from the SD card instead of the flash cart (so it seems there's only one step of put the games on the SD card and no more hassle with burning the games to the flash cart)

I'm reading on the forum as many post I can, because I'm interested in getting one cart for each console available (now and in the future)

I have one question regarding the MD cart: it seems it will be able to play Genesis and 32X from the SD card without problems, but there seems to be some kind of incompatibility for the SMS games to be run from the SD cart....

I've also read that there's a work to solve the problem, so I'd like to ask if this will be a software issue (like programming something for the menu) or more like a hardware issue (like with the N64 cart, which will need a firmware update)

Thanks in advance

Yes , there is a little bug in the cpld logic that prevents SMS roms to be loaded from the SD.
But you can burn them on the flash of course.

A new MD Myth is coming really soon that will sort out this issue. So , if you plan to buy one right
now , you might wanna wait a little while to get the upgraded & final version.

ps : You can read more here about the beta v5 progress : http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php/topic,6163.0.html

#1 - fixed
#2 - fixed
#3 - implemented (this actually took +3 revisions to get it to a stable state because it affects lots of code) ~sm-73.gif~.gif

If you can compile code , just download the source code of the latest revision , compile it , and copy on your sd the 2.3 mdebios.bin( -> /.menu/md/MDEBIOS.BIN)  :)

Hi all

I've been out for some weeks... I'd like to ask if there has been any progress in the updated versions of the MD and N64 Myth carts to have the option of running the games from SD Card?
Also, has been any progress in the same option for the SNES Myth? (I remember that this case was only a matter of write an updated menu)
I don't want to be impatient or anything, just asking because I've been out, due to some "real life" issues
Thanks in advance

Err, the MD Myth menu has been running games from the SD card for a LONG time now. The v2.3 coming out soon will have more bug fixes, allow for holding the dpad down while browsing, and double the load speed.

We are just now making significant progress on the N64 Myth. We have a test app that has a mini-menu for running multiple roms from the flash. We are currently testing the things needed for running from the SD card, so we should have that soon as well.

You might want to go to the SNES forum and check out mic's updated menus. They're really good. We're just now in the process of adding SD card support to that as well.

Could you clarify the difference between MDBIOS.BIN and MDEBIOS.BIN?

MDBIOS.BIN is burned to the menu. MDEBIOS.BIN is loaded from the SD card.

There was one thing I wanted Conle to look into, but he hasn't had the time. Maybe we should just go ahead and make an arc and leave that for 2.4.
