just got my neo md 3in1 and neo 3 sd. need help setting it up

as the topic says i need help setting up my new toy but a little lost as to how i go about getting it load off sd card. i pluged it in and turned it on was surpized to see it has the md menu 2.5 preprogrammed. sweet i throught plug sd card in away we go. but nope no directories are listed. so how do i set this thing up? the guides are patchy at best. i have got the neo myth 64 goin fine but everything was referncing to neo 2 nothign to the neo 3 sd.

hmm just tried a differnet sd card and runs fine. shame my 16gb sd doesnt work. there a file size limit or something???

The current limit is 32GB since that's what SDHC supports. I cannot yet afford an SDXC card for adding SDXC support. They're ridiculously priced still, so I'm waiting for the price to drop.

It is known that some cards don't work - we have a thread on that. Please post in the thread the make and model of the SD card... maybe I can pick one up and see where it's failing. In the meantime, boot with that card and then hit reset a couple times. I've got one SD card that doesn't show when you first turn on the console, but works fine when you reset the console. My guess is it's slow initializing when it's powered on and I need to increase a timeout on the menu.

will try got couple 2gb coming which is plenty for genises. my next problem is that i just brought a genises (usa) console as most roms are usa or even retail play better at 60hz and dont hav scart tv for colour fix on my md2. anyway it lists the games but when u go to run it fails to load them. does it for every game on sd card. what could this be??

You need to be more specific about how it's failing. Does it show the correct info about the game if you wait a few seconds? Note that the menu doesn't deal with region issues. If the game region doesn't match the Genesis, you need to use the Cheat Manager to defeat the region checking. There are GameGenie and Pro Action Replay codes for that on the web.
