Will a savestate feature be possible in a near future for Slimloader IV or V?

What do you mean by save state? You mean like emulators do for saving the complete state of the machine at any time? That's not possible without special hardware since much of the hardware in the MD is write-only. You need your cart to monitor all writes to make a save state.

Yes, savestates like in the emulators or as seen in the new Mega Everdrive (as shown here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkXEr-uV9KE).

I don't think the ASIC used in the Myth has enough gates for that. You'll notice the Mega Everdrive uses a big FPGA.

i already own a super magic drive copier which i think supports save states. i wonder if i could plug my super magic drive into my megadrive than plug one of these flash carts into the magic drive and still boot the game and use the copier for save states? the super magic drive allows you to play an original cart plugged into the top so i should imagine this would work fine.
why get a flash cart when i have copier anyway you may ask? well reason being i hate dealing with floppy disks these days and cant use the send function anymore with new pc's with no parallel ports or new os's don't support it. i have a super wild card snes copier aswell and i wonder if i could use the same method for save sates as previously mentiond for the sens flash cart copier set up. the wild card runs cart plugged into the top fine also.
i would just need to use a few old floppy's to back up save states.

I think you have the wrong idea there - he meant save states like an emulator... where the entire state of the console is saved so you can start playing the game at that same point again later. It has nothing to do with save ram. The MD Myth already handles save ram.

it's been a while since i set my old copiers up but if i remember correctly you could make a snapshot save by pressing certain buttons combos. used to explain how to do it in the manual and at the copier os screen. this function comes in handy when playing a difficult game that has nasty passwords or not enough continues. thinking back thou the option may only have worked while the machine was still on. i don't think you could back the snapshot image up like an sram reguler save. i used to have floppys just for saves but don't think i could ever back up the snapshots. still most those games were rather short and the function could help you get through a lot of games in one sitting. was just thinking if i played a game with the flash cart inserted if i could still use the wild card functions and take advantage of this function.

curiosity got the better of me and i just checked my manual. all coming back now. you had to chosse to play the game in memory mode and then button combo L+start would make real time save R+start would perform real time load and L,R+start would bring up another menu where you could backup the real time save to disk for future use. works with about 85 percent of games the manual says as some games didn't work well with this function. i used to use it quite a bit and was cool tbh. i never made disk backup of a state thou, didn't know you could lol. it was just handy for beating games like chuck rock in one sitting.

the manual i refer to is for super wild card for the snes made by front far east company. i also have the super magic drive plus for the megadrive/genesis made by the same people and i think it had mostly the same functions as the wild card. i cant rmemeber 100 percent if it had the memory mode function and i don't have the manual for the magic drive anymore.
