[PSP GAME] Crazy Gravity Portable
« on: March 20, 2009, 07:08:51 PM »
Nickname: The Underminer
Projet name: Crazy Gravity Portable
From: The Netherlands
Division: PSP GAME
Original enter: Yes
Support Motion: No
In last NEO Compo this project have won in the top 10: No

This game is based on Crazy Gravity for the PC by Axel Meierhöfer.
He gave written permission to me to use the sounds and graphics of the original game.

Project description:

You are the captain of a freight shuttle on a far away moon base. Crazy gravity rules the place. Your objective is to move cargo from their platforms to your homebase; avoiding obstacles like cannons, magnets and one-way gates.

Interface (from left to right, see screenshot)
- lives (top,semi transparant)
- cargo waiting to be shipped
- cargo you are carrying
- Color keys you have collected (opens Color Gates)
- Fuel
- your time / time to beat
- landing indicator (green:safe, yellow: warning, red: slow down or crash)

Due to the flu I could only complete 3 levels, but they are pretty challenging.

Note: the levels for PC are sadly not supported. All levels were made with the included level editor (for psp, included in game).

The lua (pge) source code is open and included in the download

I am looking for people who want to make levels; I will post general tips for that later.

great game, but level editor dont work :(

Stupid me, I included a test file that produces a "test error". I fixed the mistake. Download it again even though it seems the same download and it should work.
Note to reviewers: the editor is not a GAME but an APP. This mistake should not influence the judgement of the game.

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?5yknwm1mmod
(i can make more )

another pc version clone(i take no credit for it) http://www.mediafire.com/?xnny2wnj5rm

suggestions-
custom backround chooser or somthing
pc lvl editor :P
the scrolling in menus is too fast
in game mp3 player
a "point a to point b" game mode instead of cargo carrying (would be good for puzzle levels)

Tx DrifterX,

I think what you want is already possible. You see, it's perfectly possible to have 2 bases. You could have a start base (this is the first base you create in the editor) and an end base. Disable arrows for the start base and enable them for the end base so the user knows where to go. You also must place one piece of cargo halfway. You nearly had the idea right with your level.

See my improved version:

underminer.ikhoefgeen.nl/CGP/user_levels/mikes_improved.CGP (right click save target as...)

Also, you will notice my level plays much smoother. This is because you used a lot of bricks, wich cannot be rendered that fast. I used the 'compact' feature in the editor menu to convert all bricks to larger ones.

I must say I didn't think the level was easy because of little space to manouver.

Keep em coming!

Srlsly? I beg to differ. I couldn't complete them. Is there anyone else who tried these levels? What do you think of the difficulty?
