which menu version should be used?.nds? .gba? 0.4a? 0.5?coincidently i tried(unsuccesfully)to get moonshell going in my current setup yesterday, and just deleted neo-max 1.4 ten minutes ago, cause i was having some(irrelevant now)save issues.ive seen some people complain about the software issues, but to be honest,i can barely keep up with the updates since newyear:). thanks.

thanx kushan,i was familiar with 1.4 so it wasnt too bad.arent the characters pretty though?still a fan of the product, and even the development.i think a better option than 1.5 is to use 1.4,menu 0.4a.nds,get moonshell 8.0 or 0.8 or something like that(the file from the authors website gets to me corrupted,so you may have to find it somewhere else(???))build a moonshell file, and go to the drugstore, buy a sandisk 128mb card(15.00),write moonshell to the sd(NO FOLDERS,WRITE DIRECT!!),flash to cart, and listen to music and look at pictures, and even run .dpg(nds mpeg).you have to convert the wma(etc...)to .dpg, but the converter is in the moonshell download.if i sound like i dont really know what i am talking about, thats true.this set up may not work for everyone, but if i could get the gba features going, this thing can now about do everything i wanted it to.for 200.00,i dont expect it to clean my house.good job to the neoflash team.(yeah, kind of sucking butt here, but i dont need anything from anyone(right now at least),so,each to their own.

rogerpoco: It has support for GBA when you put the GBA directly to the Neo cart, for certain up to #1370 although some higher than that I found as not working (especially the new save types etc).
edit:/ I just tried harvest moon 1 US and golden sun 1 US on the cart using the app, and it worked great.

MoonShell is working fine on my PQI 128MB card ;)  (although pretty much everything else isnt showing up in the SD menus of the NeoMax booter)

For those of you who are seeing "GBFS":
press the A button in moonshell while on the /.. dir entry, press down to get to MP SD - MP SDI/O and press A - you can then browse your SD card and listen to MP3's and look at images. 0.4 wasnt the best Moonshell release, but it is good enough to listen to MP3's (not OGG though :( ) and look at images directly from the SD card.

-= guess this means that a IO lib might be close to being done :) =-

does Moonshell have any use to me if I don't want to use my DS as an oversized MP3 player or a picture album?

Well yeah but if I wanted to play MP3's via an SDcart, then I'd use my phone (which takes SD and supports mp3, ogg, wma even divx video) which is about half the size of a DS.

Like I said, does it have any other use? Would it allow me to flash DS games to a flash cart? Or better yet, GBA (which as of v0.5 NeoMax does not support yet)?

I don't know about the version included but the best thing about moonshell is it can play video converted to dpg format (a tool to do it is included). It's not the best video playback but it's ok.

ROFL!

I tell you, it have a fantastic .MOD playback ( "amiga-music" as some people call it.. heh ) .. an interface.. you can switch the background and stuff, all in all a nice booter.. when it gets 100% neosupport of course  :P

.. no wait..

Moonshell turns the Nintendo DS into an incredible workhorse! .. you can browse the web, and even STREAM VIDEO'S.. jepp.. and since its based on DS Linux, it can obviously run Enemy Territory for Linux as well.. I tell you, its nice =) .. so, convinced?  :P
