Boot Cart or Lockout defender?

(1/1)

the|Gamer:
Hi,
the NES Version could be very tricky because you have to put the Cartridge in ana pull it down its no Toploader!
I've heard that there where Companys that defendet the Lockoutchip back then.
Today with modern ┬ÁC's I think this would be no problem!?
Or do we have to but in a piggybank Cart?
Oh and what is current status of the Cart?

King Of Chaos:
Well, it could function like the Game Genie, but would cause the boot cart to stick out of the console and now allow you to close it.

I'm sure there's already a solution in mind.

There exists a chip called the CIClone, which you can put inside of a cart to get around the region protection. The NES PowerPak uses this chip for example.

Not that it's difficult to disable the lockout chip on the NES itself. All you need is a screwdriver, a small knife and 5-10 minutes. Unless you've got the american top-loader, which AFAIK doesn't have a lockout chip in the first place.
