Title: Neo myth card 64 save problems

hi,

i have some problems to save my games with the Neo myth card 64. How can i create a save from the game ? And load this save again ?

For the moment i've tried to save starcraft 64, ridge racer or star wars racer and it always tell me " backup nothing " when i want to save with the type " CARD ", if i change it to any other type like "flash 1mb" for example it tell me that "the SRAM save finish" ... Ok . Next i upload the save . The game start correctly, but always with a " save error, all save lost " , and when it don't tell me any errors any save can be found.

If someone can explain me the save method and upload method it will be appreciated.

because the save game and upload game save not work ?  please explain me the method with neo 2 ultra menu for make a save on my PC and upload the save game to my  pc to the neo 64 cart myth,   and when i make save on game type   save : CARD  a message appear "backup nothing " ???? i not understand the save and restore save  on the neo myth card 64...thanks for explain me

No of couse not. Only if you want to backup the save to your PC.

You should backup the save to your Pc if:

1) you know that you won't play with the Neo Myth in the next 30 days
2) you want to flash an other game and have to clear Neo Myth cart

Big problem ! I have saved Ridge racer 64 and zelda but  if I flash a new game example ogre battle 64 and when i return to flash for ridge racer 64 which i send the save since the pc the save do not work  and the save of zelda also not work not? ( my saves has working once?? )

Hi Hello :)


Sorry sanni for disturb you with my private message and sorry for my bad language english.I explain my problem ok ! :)....When i write flash the rom ridge racer 64 i put before the eeprom 16k its ok ! and when the game is flash ( write 100% ) i turn my N64 console to ON ok ! and when i go to the option of the game ( save and load ) , i put my player name example  " PHIL" ok ...I not play the game its just for test also  i turn the N64 OFF for  1 hour and  i use the option (game save) a message appear ok  " the save is extracted correctly to the folder N64....after 1 hour N64 OFF  i make "download  save  " message appear its ok,  and i put the N64 ON and i go to the system option load and save and i see my player name " PHIL" , i not play the game for a race  its just a test .....But the big problem when i put my N64 OFF and when i write flash another new games example ( ogre battle 64 or Zelda 64 ) this two games work  when i put the N64 ON ,  but when i reflash ( write ) ridge racer 64 with eeprom 16k , i go to the option save and load and my name player "PHIL" is not here ??? i tried the download  save ( message appear its ok )  and nothing ?  my player name is not here  ? ...this come because i not played the game Ridge racer 64 on one or many  race  and no passed the point from save in the game??? ...




I suppose that i must use the option “game save” only when i make a races and passed the point of save in the game ridge racer 64 , its this i think ??



And very sorry for my bad language english


PS: I try all method save same to yoshy story with eeprom 16k and game not save !!!!!!

Did you press on "N64 Burn" after "Download save"?
If not try it.
I just tested Ridge Racer and I could backup and restore savegames just fine.

and remember, every time you just can keep one game save in the N64 myth cart, if you want to play other games, you need to backup your current game save to PC firstly, for keep it safely, and you can restore it to N64 myth when you want.

I think that this is what he've been doing all this time : Burning games with similar save type over and over again :)

Ogre Battle 64 + Legend of zelda = Both use SRAM  ::sm-12.gif::
Until the SD menu code is finished just do exactly what Dr.Neo told you : Backup & Restore the saves of games that share the same save chip  O0O

Yes i tried all your video for save and upload save , and nothing work !!! i have also windows xp pro system and neo 2 ultra menu 3.04 and this product not work for me !

1) Did you pressed "N64 Burn" after "Download save?
2) After you backed up the savegame did you try it with Project64 to see if the savegame even works? That way we could isolate the problem wether it happens when backing up or when restoring the savegame.

Yep question when i install the neo2 ultra menu i have a virus named ROMPATH.DLL ...Its virus ( dropper.gen )  in program neo 2 ultra menu ? its dangerous or its not a virus because avira say to me virus ..Explain me this ROMPATH.DLL in the neo2 ultra menu ? ..Thanks

Only Antivir and Mc Afee report it as a virus, so you should be save. It is not a virus.

That particular "virus" is a generic family of viruses they use a heuristic algorithm to detect. As such, it's prone to false positives. If MOST of the AVs don't detect it (and they're up to date), it's almost certainly a false positive. The AVs will adjust the heuristics as false positives are reported.

you can test the N64 save hardware in this way:

[1] download this N64.rar, and unzip to this folder: C:\NEO2 Ultra Menu\N64\
[2] open the v3.04 neo2 ultra menu, click the "Memory" page, then click the "Auto Burn (rom+Ram+Menu) ", then will auto write/read/verify the N64 myth cart hardware
[3] if you can see everything pass, then is NOT your N64 myth cart hardware problem.

just try it, no one need to guess ::sm-14.gif::

If the above test shows bad result , then :

1.Do a low level format
2.Repeat again what you've been doing : burn the game , load it , create the save file , & verify that it exists(->Remove the cart from the slot
wait 30" , plug it again , and make sure it shows the save)

3.Now ,plug the usb cable(By the way,you might want to try different usb cable/usb port) & backup all save ram
4.Post here the binary of the save ram , and tell us exactly the game that you have used with full release tags.

Its a false alarm by the engine that the antivirus is using  ~sm-82.gif~.gif , just ignore it.The files hosted on this site are 100% clean.  ~sm-57.gif~.gif  ~sm-57.gif~.gif  ~sm-57.gif~.gif  ~sm-57.gif~.gif
...And make sure that your antivirus isn't blocking the NEO Myth Programmer's executable and its modules  :P

It's not dangerous and it's no risk.
Also you really should change your antivirus program as antivir does a lot of false alarms to sell more copys of there product.
Try Windows Security Essentials.

Ok Good !!!! my hardware is N64 NTSC JAP/US with RGB scart cable with expansion memory.....save and dowload save fonction work fine  :) Also a BIG BIG thanks to sanni member for explain me and the extra video  :)  and thanks also  to all member of neoteam and thanks to a admin a Neoteam my problem its just a bad manipulation software.Now work fine !!!!


ps: just banjo tooei US version not work ( black screen )

For Banjo Tooie to work you need to plug either a Conker's Bad Fur Day, Donkey Kong 64, Jet Force Gemini, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Mickey's Speedway USA or Perfect Dark cartridge into the back of the Neo N64 Myth.

Please use the opensource programmer or the beta neo client(it has bugs , so if you're not interested in helping debugging the app , don't use it)

A very easy way to determine the savetype of a rom is to load the rom with Project64 and look what type of save it created.

Attached is a excel file with save and cic type, feel free to fill in missing information and upload modified version here.
