I'm considering buying the N64 Myth cart.  Can it (or it's software) transfer a save from an original Zelda cart to a file on the PC?  I've spent many hours on the Zelda game, and I want to back it up to the computer.  Unless it can do that, then I'm not interested in buying it.  Thanks.

It has the capability of saving the save ram of the cart plugged into the Myth, but it doesn't have the software to do it yet. If you hang loose a week or so, I'll do some experiments in the menu and see if I can't add dumping the save ram on the pass-through to a file on the SD card.

Having a save manager in the menu to handle both the save memory on the cart plugged into the Myth as well as the controller paks has always been planned, but we skip around on all the menus adding features.  It just seems to me to be time to work on this on the N64 Myth.

What's the status on this?  Can this be done now?  I really really would like to get my old saved data transferred from the original N64 cart to my computer.  Thanks!

The savemanager will probably be included in the next release of the neo myth menu. Chillywilly is already working on it  :)

I remember with the old client I made a backup of save file in mario 64 cart attached, but some people reported it was working only with some games and sometimes

I'll be posting a beta of v2.3 of the menu soon (maybe this weekend). There have been a number of changes we'd like people to try - from a fix for the Rakuga Kids start problem to the new Save Manager.

Thanks so much ChillyWilly!  It's very hard to believe, but my Zelda OOT cart has the original battery from when I bought it in December 1998, and is still working.  It's still holding my save data, but I know I've got to get it backed up soon.

Try to save it with this and try the resulting file.

Edit: new version here.
