I am only an user just like you, but I'll tell you a few things.
First, there is a comprensive FAQ that you can access anytime by CLICKING HERE (http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php/topic,875.0.html)
But just to give you basic idea on how things works keep in mind this :
-You need a GBA flashcart as well to boot the neo boot menu(any cart will do )
- You have to burn on your flashcart an application called Neoflash MK2/3 Menu (most recent version is V0.4),which is gonna boot your Magic Key. Also make sure this is the only file on your flash cart.
Then you need a SD/MMC card (most popular models work) and an SD/MMC card reader/writer that you connect to your PC via USB.
- Using your SD/MMC card reader/writer you should format your SD card and then copy the roms you wanna play to it.
- Insert the SD cart into the SD slot on your MK3, an original DS game into the larger slot of the MK3 and the flashcart with Neoflash MK2/3 Menu v.04 burned on it into the GBA slot of your DS.
- Switch the unit on, and you will see a boot menu(with black screen) which is gonna give you 3 options:
- SD/MMC , to explore the content of your SD card.
- Neo/XG, to explore the content of the neoflash cart(if any).
- MK3, to play whatever you might burn into the MK3 internal flash memory(size depends on the model you purchased)
Press A to make your choice.
For more detailed information , you might want to CLICK HERE (http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php/topic,875.0.html)
Hope that helps.

hey q_armando,
You should be writing stuff for cory's FAQ section :D
Anyways, to address original poster's question, I didn't know anything about gba flashcarts, so I went over here to find out more info (checked out gba AND nintendo ds sections)
http://www.gameboy-advance.net/
They have a few places to buy carts, and you can also check the Neo shop forums here for other shops if you are looking for the cheapest one around (though people have had problems with the ic2005 shop, so I avoid that one).
Now, here's something you might consider if you are buying any old cart. While you can likely BOOT from ANY cart, you might not be able to flash a .nds rom to that cart and have it work (they are two different concepts).
The reason is that the mk3 software (called the menu) is designed primarily for NEO-MAX, Neoflash, and XG2005 flashcarts. You may be able to get other carts to work, but you need to check out cory's FAQ section on non-neo/xg carts to see how.
Now if you don't buy a compatible cart which can be flashed directly with the menu, you either have to play the rom directly from the SD card (currently has long loading times, and many games don't yet work), OR you have to play from the mk3 internal memory (probably the best option now)
However, for that last option, you need the mk3 512 Mb flash to be able to run the largest roms currently out there (512 Mb).
If you have just the 128Mb version mk3, you can't flash games larger than 16MB to internal memory, so you are very limited.
Bottom line: For high compatibility and roms running at full speed, you need either a recommended flashcart OR a mk3 512 (if you want to play the largest roms out there from internal memory). Playing directly from the SD card is currently the least desirable option, at least until the feature gets improved in future menu revisions.

you could get a XG2005 256, and it should burn with the menu as well as the NeoPowerKit software. Probably work with NeoMax software too...
