Hello,
i have bought the neoflash 3in1 kit. I use the GST Universal Patcher and can play all games on my DS. Great job.
Now i bought a MK3. When i use the MK3 with my Kingston SD card (256MB and 1GB) and i use the procedure described for Mk3 in the FAQ i have no success.
When i use the MK3 with the GST_MK2_V3.4R Patcher i can run this game which i´ve burned to the GBA card,
so it seems to me that the Kingston card will not recognized at this time.
When will the Kingston cards be supported from the MK menu?
i use version 4.0a nds.
Thanks for helping

Have you tried both FAT and FAT32 formatting for your cards?
Does anyone else have problems getting their kingston to recognize with 0.4a?
-
yes, strange since in the compatibility thread people have gotten their kingston cards to work.
try what cory mentioned (formatting in fat16 and fat32).
Also, to check if it's the latest menu version causing the incompatibility, you can roll back to the 0.3 menu instead of 0.4a, and see if your cards work there.
Now this may be a basic question, but I assume that you can get the menu software to load, and you see the sd card, neo/xg cart, and mk3 icons, is that right?? You just can't initialize/browse the contents of the sd card, correct?

Hello,
i tried FAT and FAT 32 for the SC card.
I use also the latest version 0.4a nds for the menu.
I don´t see the menu software, my DS don´t recognize the MK3/GBA cart. I see only the standard DS menu
So waiting for your comments

What color DS?? you may have a new firmware on your ds thats not compatible with mk3
-
Hello, i´ve a grey color DS.
The firmware is combatible, because whith the MK3 and a MK3 patched file on the GBA card everything is running fine.
Only the menu and SC access seems to be a problem.
-
The menu can be found here:
http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php/topic,1360.0.html
It is for running stuff from the SD card that is in the MK. Try burning the .nds version of the menu to your cart like you do the GST patched files (but dont put them throught the patcher first)
-
oh, this is a problem with getting the menu program to boot on your ds (once you are able to do that, your SD cards will likely work).
Now I'm assuming you are using your Neoflash cartridge and the latest version of Neo Power Kit (2.1 -- which you can get here in the driver forums)
Maybe try this -- if the .nds menu 0.4 file doesn't work -- take the .gba menu 0.4 file and burn that to your flashcart using Neo Power Kit (I'm assuming you follow the standard procedure -- remove any existing files on cart, if any, select the menu file, and 'burn all')
Then, exit the Neo Power Kit program, and just to check that the menu file was actually burned, re-open the Neo Power Kit program again (you shouldn't see ANYTHING listed on your flashcart -- this is normal since menu program doesn't have a gba header)
Now, hook everything up again (insert flashcart, SD card, AND original game into magic key 3), and lemme know what happens. You said the normal ds screen boots up, which is strange, since magic key should be directing contents of the flashcart to load

ok,
i tried again:
start Neokit 2.1, remove any files an the bga cart.
then i close the Neokit program. I use the GBA mode, then i add the menu 04.gba and burn all.
After exit and reload i see 2 lines without descirption (i think the neo boot loader and the menu)
When i then start my DS i can only open the option GBA Game to start. Thats all.
-
-double click NDS mode.bat
-open neo power kit
-remove all files
-add the "menu 04.gba" by itself
-click burn
In gba mode it adds a GBA loader, which will give you white screens if you try to run it in nds mode.
-
Hi,
i did as you mentioned but the result was the same.
Now, after burning the 04.gba menu i see nothing by restarting the neokit so it seems to be ok from this side.
the only thing i see is the original DS menu and the note that i have a DS option module in the GBA slot.
-
the menu showing that is as it should be.
If you dont turn on the DS with the Magic Key in and with a game in it, then it will go to the menu and tell you you have an option pack in the DS slot. If you are doing this with the MK3, and it is going to the DS menu wrather than the app or white screens, then try cleaning the contacts on your MK3 (the little gold fingers) and your DS gamecard. Make sure nothing that doesnt belong got into the DS slot or the slot where you put a DS cart into the MK.

Hi,
this hint was the best. i can´t believe it but i received my MK3 yesterday and i inserted the MK3 maybe 4-5 times into the DS and now i checked the little gold fingers and 2 of them are a little bit damaged. so i cleaned it and now the menu ist running and also the games.
So i think the quality of this MK3 batch is not the best.
Thanks to all for helping me
