The neoflash cart can only store the save data for one game at a time so you need to back up the save when you change games.
If the save is getting deleted after you turn off the power you may need to change the battery in the cart

I have a 512Mb NeoFlashcard(came with the NEO Flash 3 in 1) that i copied Fire emblem, Zelda Minish Cap, Pokemon Sapphire, Final Fantasy 4 Advance and Snood 2 on vacation.. ooh and 3 in 1 with lunar lander breakout and milipede to using GBA Mode and NEO Power Kit 2.1.. and play them on my GB Micro (havnt tried on the NDS yet)

The thing is that all games but Pokemon gets to keep the savefile, tested so they all worked when i had burnt them and made sure to play past all the intros and save.. all fine until i try pokemon again.. it just sez "Savefile Deleted".. now that is not a big problem for me personaly, as i think that would work if i ONLY had pokemon on the card what i wanna say is that it seems that the Card can be saved to and the saves loaded again.. BUT i cant seem to back the saves up in any way.. tried the "save all" under saver operations without luck.. it makes a savefile but i cant restore it again it seems...

so to the original poster: do you use NDS or a GBA system to play your games ?

and my question.. how do i back up GBA game saves (if possible)

Pokemon would need the save patch (look for GBATA) and possibly the real time clock patch (although NeoFlash should have a RTC built in, if the battery is low it wont be working right).

If you are using the cart with NDS GBA_save, it is a known problem that sometimes the first 2 bytes and last 2 bytes gets corrupted when you turn on the system or simply insert the cart into a powered linker.

Unfortunately, when using GBA roms with NeoPowerKit there is no solution but not to use the games that arent SRAM saving already, and dont write to those bytes by default. Some experimentation with the patching can be done as well, I think with GBA roms the dropdown save type actually does something.

If you changed the battery and still cant save, it is possible that the battery you changed to is dead as well. When I got my neomax kit it had a battery installed, as well as 2 others, which all tested as good (3.41V with a multimeter). When I got my XG2005 512 kit, it had a battery installed, and 2 others. The installed battery was almost dry (2.6V) and one of the two other batteries was completely bad (0V), but the third was OK.

What do you mean by simply insert the cart into a powered linker?
If I change the battery, Are the saves gona work?

GBA_Saves in NDS mode
- these are known to be not working correctly with some carts, it is due to the SRAM memory being corrupted by power cycle or cart swap. ROM files that have a designated 2mbit save seem to not be affected even on the problem carts. Use NDS saves if at all possible.

Well, hello everyone! I'm not a NeoFlash user, but since Superman from XG Flash simply ran away and redirected all of his customers to this site, I hope I'm posting this in the right place (funny... I can't shake this feeling that NeoFlash is just a XG Flash 2005 with some new "artwork", and that the so-called "Dr.Neo" is actually "Mr. Superman" from XG... well, whatever.)

I've got one XG Flash 2005 - 128Mb kit for more than a year now, and still have all those problems with the "disappearing saves", specially with both "Fire Emblem" games. Since I can't even think of trying to backup my saves to SMS (my cart=128Mb / the ROM=128Mb... no space for loaders or SMS) I would like to know if there's a definitive solution for this problem, or if I'm going to have to wait for another year until this problem is fixed, instead of the "cosmetic" changes on the interface for every new version that comes out and don't solve anything?

Sorry for the ranting, but I've spent a lot of money on something that STILL doesn't work properly and, after one whole year of waiting, the guy who created it, simply abandon it. I think this whole situation is simply ABSURD.

Hope someone here can help me. Thanks, in advance.

I think it is a hardware tolerance issue. Probably replacing the right component on the PCB would make it work right, but I have no idea which component would need replacing, or realistically whether it could be fixed reasonably well.

Not to say dont get your hopes up, there are various ways that the software patching could fix the problem - but honestly it seems to me that dev is currently focused on adding NDS support to the NeoMax app right now wrather than making funky workarounds for the GBA patching  :(

the olny way I got around this is I dug up my old gba and used the cart in it and it keeps the saves :P.......BUT when I put it in a nintendo DS the saves are gone when I turn the Nintendo DS off.how unsurprising ::)

so I suggest unretiring the gba for .gba games.
after all it is its native system

Ooops, I forgot to say that I'm using the kit with a GBA-SP. I think that when I bought it the DS wasn't yet on the stores, here...

So, this problem may be caused by the hardware? That would be a big, BIG problem... and the manufacturer of the kit is nowhere to be found. Great.
I guess I will keep hoping that this can be solved by the software... another year, maybe?

idk if anyone will reply to this but... My neoflash 2.0 software supports saves... the only downside to this is that it doesn't save at all.

I've been having this problem ever since i've been playing my gba games on my DS.  I changed the battery to see if that was the problem... nothing... I tried gbata... nothing... I even tried that tutorial from neoflash and it still doesn't work... am i missing something here!? (btw for all u ppl that dk what im having problems with... my saved data mysteriously vanishes after i power off my nintendo DS while playing a gba game)
