i bought new mk 1 yesterday, and when i tried to boot rom from the supercard, i get nothing but 2 white screen, after many times trying and trying, i realized that the mk 1 light don't turn on, it only turn on(the color is yellow) when i turn on the DS and then it turn off again. my question is, is my mk 1 broken or my DS isn't compatible with mk 1 ,coz i tried the firmware test and i get yellow screen(it isn't really yellow actually, it is like yellow and green mix together) on my DS????????? :'( help me plisssss)

When do you bought your NDS?
I think you need Superpass2.
Have you Flashme on your?
-
he doesnt have flashme if he is getting a yellow screen.
You get a dark green sceen (looks yellowish to me too) if you have flashme or V3 firmware on it.
Have you updated the firmware on you SuperCard? (start it in GBA mode while holding the L and R shoulder buttons, then click A a few times till it tells you the version. If its lower then 1.50 it will not work in NDS mode.)

Hello, I also bougt mine y-day, and I have about the same problem...
tried to boot some ds roms including MarioKart but after startup-screen both screens go white. My MK1 flashes BLUE a few times, but that's it.
With some fiddling, it sometimes works and I can start the "gba menu" where i see the roms (after "game boy" intro) in a menu, but when i start one either the screen freezes on the last frame of the "game boy" intro, OR it just plays the intro and goes back to the menu again.
This really sucks, because I keep hearing what a great product it is. And the "upgrade firmware" methods are WAY over my head, so I'd prefer not to have to do that. But if that's what it takes to get it working I will, cuz i don't want to throw 160 bucks away.
I have an early model european ds and the screens went GREEN after the test. What does this mean exactly? cuz I seem to understand it should work when its green. (its definitely NOT yellow...but it really is yellow-ish)
please...someone?

i have chinesse DS, the model no. is NTR-001, i bought it on october 05, but the ds made in 2004, my MK 1 never flashes blue, it only flash yellow when i turn on my ds and then died in 1-2 sec. i don't know if i have flashme or not, i want to upgrade my firmware, but my MK 1 can't boot it ::sm-02::

MK1 will not work on the chinese iQue DS, you will need to use PassMe2 or similar (there are a few 2 versions now, EZpass2, superpass2, passkey2 which are all programmable and will work with iQue and new firmware DS's)
Sint: to go to the gameboy menu, dont use the MK at all. You have to put the SuperCard update.bin on the SD/CF card to update the supercard. There is much better support for supercard products at http://www.scdev.org if you are looking for more info. If your SuperCard firmware is less than 1.50 it will not work in DS mode at all (1.50 was the first SC kernel to introduce a DS menu), and you will have to upgrade the SuperCard's firmware for it to work properly with a MK/PassMe.
Upgrading your DS's firmware is a different story. It does away with the need for a PassMe/MagicKey. It is not necisarry though.

ow....and what is moonshell anyway?i've seen it so many times....

It's an application you use to look at pictures, listen to music, watch videos (added to later versions), etc.

CORY,
thanks for the info, but i dont have a SuperCard. i have a NEOflash cart (3in 1 with magic key & usb loader)
if it's the same thing MY BAD, but i'm really a noob at this stuff, sorry
-
no, supercard and neoflash are not the same items.
It sounds like you have an older firmware version that is compatible with PassME1 (assuming it turns darks green - that's FW3 which should work fine)
Now, for Neoflash 3-1, procedure should be the same:
1) For gba mode, double-click the gba mode icon on your desktop. Open Neo Power Kit, and burn the gba roms you want to play (including that neoboot.bin file, which is a gba loader) onto your flashcart.
2) For nds roms, double-click the nds mode icon on your desktop. Then, patch a single clean dump using gst-patcher 3.1. Using Neo Power Kit, burn the gst-patched rom. Use the gba_save version (if you want to save to the flashcart) or the nds_save version (if you want to save to the ds game cartridge -- though you need to match the size of the save file to that used by the game cartridge)
3) If nds rom doesn't work, it's probably because the patcher isn't compatible with that game.
If you have done all this, post more details about the problem...

When you had said you had a similar problem, and that you bought it yesterday, I assumed you ment "it" was a supercard... lol
Do please read the FAQ post on basic use, to get an idea what you need to do to make your NeoFlash cart work right in NDS mode.
