Title: Is the MagicKey 1 a normal PassMe?
Post by: daCuk on March 11, 2006, 08:44:07 AM
My question is related to the possibility of:

1- My NeoFlash cart got broken, and I want to buy a replacement (be it NeoMax, SuperCard, M3Perfect, etc.) without having to buy another Pass device.

2- Having more than one cart (one for games, one for emulation, one for media, etc.)

If you have information about it, Cory, I will appreciate your answer. :D

The answer is yes, it should work fine as a regular passme.  If ones owns a mk2 or mk3, those acts as passme devices also.  I'm getting my supercard soon, and will be using the mk3 as the passme device.

You need a passme2 device, superpass 2, etc. if you want to use it with the ds lite (import only currently), since it has one of the newer firmware revisions.

It is indeed a PassMe, and has pretty much the same hardware CPLD as passme does. It can even be unlocked and reprogrammed with the normal passme programming software if you open it up and trace the JTAG points from the lynx's dspassme.com guide to programming them.

SuperPass and PassKey can be reprogrammed the same way (just FYI) as they are all essentially the same thing in a different case.
