Hi,
I'm unable to get anything other than "DS Option Pak Inserted" from my MK3. I know my Neoflash is ok as I have been able to run ds roms with my MK1 and any number of original DS carts.
Could an incompatible SD card be causing this? Should I be able to run homebrew from the flashcart without an SD card inserted?
Thanks for any help.

Have you tried running some homebrew using your magic key 3 as the passme device??
You can download this homebrew app here, burn it with Neo Power kit onto your neoflash cart, and then connect your mk3 (with original game inserted) in order to see if it runs.

Note: The SD card does not need to be inserted into the mk3 in order to do this (it operates similarly to a mk1, with just an original ds cartridge inserted). Try all your ds cartridges to test (try to avoid using Mario 64)
Also, check that the mk3 connectors/slots are all fine (there are no bent pins, tiny obstructions, etc). The "gold fingers" may be cleaned with a q-tip and a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol.
That "option pak" notice also pops up when the original nds cartridge and/or the mk3 itself are not inserted fully (properly seated) in the slots.....

EDIT: If you can get homebrew working on your mk3, you should be able to flash the menu file onto the neoflash, and run it as well (at that point you could copy clean dumps onto your sd card, and insert your sd card into your mk3 to see if it's detected by the menu)

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for quick reply.
I have tried running homebrew with the MK3 as a PassMe but all I get is the aforementioned Option Pak screen. Again, I confirmed the flashcart was good by running the same homebrew with an MK1.
I've tried cleaning the contacts and will probably try that again before I think about returning the MK3.

Yeah, if you just got it, the safest course of action is probably to return for a new one, since it's not even working as a passme.
I would probably do that myself....

Like bruceg said in his edit, did you put the menu into your neoflash? I don't think you mentioned doing that in your posts.

Yes, I initially tried running the menu 0.4a, then, thinking that the SD card may be the issue, I tried running homebrew from the neoflash. Unfortunately, I've never gotten past the "DS Option Pak inserted" screen.
Thanks again, I'm returning this one to Divineo.
