Title: Flashme really needed?
Post by: zerochiten on April 06, 2006, 02:38:02 AM
I hear flashing the firmware will unencrypt data sent through dsdownload play which in turn doesn't read at all on non flashed nintendo ds'. I have about eight friends I play multiplayer games with all time and with some games just one cart. So if I don't have to I really don't want to risk it. I'll probably be recieving my MK3 in the mail today just need a heads up about this, thanks.

Also I forgot to mention I'm almost positive I have a v1 nds.

As long as your not hosting there shouldn't be a problem.

I don't use download and play (only myself and 1 ds).  I read from other users here, that it works with a flashme ds AND a non-flashme ds (assuming it's the older firmware).  Though there are still some bugs apparently....

If your set-up works without flashing it,I suggest not to.
I have 2 DS's,and I consider flashing one,every day,just to check it out,because I have to be missing something.(lol)
Still,if it works without,I have heard some horror stories from people trying to install it,so I say nay.
