Title: Flashme
Post by: Trandera on April 09, 2006, 03:59:12 AM
Hello. i just downloaded the flashme menu in order to install it so i can boot homebrew games from my flashcard.

however, i have been having some problems. i was wondering whether or not i could put the menu on an sd card and boot the flashme from my MK2 instead of botting it from my flash cart. my flash cart is an F2A, so i put the flashme on my sd card instead.

will it work if i boot the flashme menu from the sd card?

eh, I think it would.. as long as the MK2 starts  ::sm-19.gif::

if not, then it might be a good idea to place it on your flashcard.. furthermore, you have to place the Neomenu on the flashcard, and flash it to the internal menu zone on your MK2 no matter what.. so, yeah  ::sm-21.gif::

ok if you can boot your NDS with the menu on the GBA flash cart.
then you can copy the menu onto the menu space.

It's like they said... you need to initially run the menu from the gba cart, so that you may flash it to the mk2/mk3 menu space (using the menu file loaded on the sd card) The menu on the mk2/mk3 has priority over the one on the flashcart.

Flashme is generally run from the gba cart.  However, the latest version has a proper header that seems to work, if booted from the menu (I just booted it, but didn't flash, so I haven't verified it works 100%)

I can verify that Flashme can be run from the SD card slot at this point.  It has a nice looking icon in the new Menu (0.6beta2) as well.  Everything went smooth while running from the Menu program and SD card slot, and on my really old NDS (silver with version 1 firmware), no SL1 shorting was required.

There definitley is potential in the beta menu program, and if it continues evolving at the rate it's evolved so far, then current MK2/3 users will be in a very good position in not that long...

I wonder though, what we'll see from a new Flashme version, or if we've reached the 'as good as it can get' point with Flashme V7.

I assume the next flashme may see increased functionality/compatibility for ds lite, as it has multiple brightness levels..

Ehh, maybe because they're working -hard- on the menu?  ::sm-02::

The neoteam is most likely focusing on the problems posted in the feedback area.. please be patient, it will actually result in a far more stable release ( as the 0.6 compared to the 0.5 ) .. give them some time for the testing as well  ::sm-19.gif::
