Here, try open this leveldev.doc
finally some help thanks that worked any clue what my problem could have been?
*edit*
noticed that its gonna be alot harder to make maps then i thought i figured it would be setup so a color was the non buildable set by a pixal in the corner
looks like a map maker would be handy

Update:
~sm-31.gif~
Fixed PSP executable: http://localhost.geek.nz/dsp/dsp_psp_1a.zip
What was up?
Windows capitalises some of the folders when putting it on the PSP, this made the game bug out when loading towers and enemies.
I have a partially complete level editor, I'll finish it up during the week.
-
rockin now all we need are multiplayer for all three and some more maps to play and this will be the best game yet for psp(already pretty close
-
@danzel
It would be cool to see more sprites for the enemies, e.g. move animation, or different views back, front, side...
-
There is a move animation there, most of the enemies barely use it though. Its noticable on the teddy bears, they wobble back and forwards.
Will consider the different angles though, I kept wanting it when I was drawing the existing sprites.
-
music, highscores, and ability to save after each level would be cool...
also tv8 idea is good to add...
-
after u place ur towers how do u start the game?
-
Like it says at the bottom of the screen, you press "R-Trigger" To release the next wave of enemies.
-
I love this game. Good work. ::sm-18.gif::
The death sounds are ... amusing lol
-
danzel is my hero! ::sm-11.gif::
-
clocked it! great game ::sm-17.gif::

You have only completed the first level :P

-

-
@antisocialist - Are you using the fixed version?
Based on what you say you've done, you should be seeing this:
http://localhost.geek.nz/dsp/dspstart.jpg
Could you get a shot of what you are seeing if thats not it? (camera should be fine)
-
i got it working it just wasnt that one load i reloaded and it was fine but howss that level maker coming along im getting tired of the current ones lol
-
sorry for double post :-\ but i really wany a level maker >:D
or at least some new levels
-
It will come with the next release, expect it in 1-3 days.
-
That makes me happy :)
I want to do a pokemon level (what's better than shooting mudkips :p) and don't have much time right now, the level editor will help.
-
Lopezab88,
A st*rcraft level was started (without any editor, Notepad (level , tower, enemies edition) and Gimp (Srpites) and Foobar (samples) are enough :D
take a look !

There is a new version of DSP out, but the level editor isn't included yet:
http://localhost.geek.nz/?p=34 (http://localhost.geek.nz/?p=34)
-
This version has a slightly longer River TD, plenty of playability fixes and fixes/improves the bugs that prevented many other people from releasing their own maps.
There is also a difficulty modifier, so daring folks can try play the levels through with more difficulty. Try beat River TD on 2.0x difficulty, I DOUBLE DARE YA!
ur on
expect me to report back with whether or not i demolished youre level in around 10-15 minutes depending on how much longer it is
-
damn you!! that means i get half the money and they have twice the health
thats 4 times harder.
i will beat it
sticking to my strategy (i havent done that yet) i will beat u
-
ill try it on 1.8.
its not even beatable on 2.0 without modifying the text file so theres less enemies or they have less health or give more money
-
You get the same money as normal difficulty, but enemies have 2.0x more health.
I've got fairly far on 2.0x difficulty, haven't beaten it yet however.
-
ok and what does the numbers by the star represent???
or what does the star represent?
-
Points!
-
oh... i beat game 20 times and didnt know that lol

Hello,
I have customized TileStudio to generate DSP maps
get it there :
http://www.sendspace.com/file/7aw6vg
Instructions :
1. Unzip the zip
2. Run TS.exe
3. open the river project as example :
File->Open then go to maps subdir and choose river.tsp
4. Click rivertd tab on the bottom
5. Do CTRL+Tab (Toggle map/Tile editor)
6. As you should see a map is composed of
32×32 tiles of 16×16
7. To set a tile as tower-able or not :
select with the ’selection tool’ (dotted square) the block of tiles you want to set as tower-able (= you can put a tower there) then click on the left button 00
8. Set the Map Code (hex) as 23
9. Do set non tower-able tiles, do the same but set the Map Code (hex) as 5F
ALL tiles should have a map code
10. Then go to Code menu, select ‘Generate Code’
11. in the maps dir, a level.map is created
12. in the windows explorer clic on convert.vbs
13. a level.txt file is created, you’ve got your map !
14. edit it to add other required parameters as usual
15. To have your level.png image, go to menu Map, uncheck Show Map Codes, then do menu File, Export Map as Image, select PNG filetype and type level.png
So now do you own map with your own tileset !
have fun

but thats almost as complicated as doing it the way danzel did.... i think im gonna wait till his comes out... in ****hopefully**** 2 weeks
-
are you kidding ??????????
I don't think that in 2 weeks Danzel will do better !!!! This is the way that graphist use to design game worlds !!! And I don't see what is so complex.... draw, save, convert, play...
Ask Danzel but I guess expecting more than this in 2 weeks in a dream... Maybe I'm wrong but as a professional developer I know what is doable and what is not in 2 weeks...
-
Yeah, my level editor isn't really any better than what shazz has made.
It (will) support wave waypointing, but thats about the only difference.
It is just a tool designed to assist in creating levels, not create them all for you.
-
well im still gonna wait till i comes out to compare them
i only have 40gb of hdd left
