Post by: sg57 on August 21, 2008, 12:24:44 AM
Nickname: SG57
Project name: Minesweeper
From: USA
Division: PSP Game
Original enter: Yes
Support Motion: No
In last NEO Compo this project have won in the top 10: No

Project description: Here is a Windows Minesweeper clone featuring complete random minefields and includes the same difficulties as the one found on Windows, it also sports the same UI and colors and they work great on the PSP.

Features custom minefield size and mines as well as the original difficulty settings.

Analog Stick - Move your cursor around at high speeds, useful for getting across the screen in a hurry
D-Pad - Move your cursor slowly to move from one spot to an adjacent one easier then with the analog stick

X - Click spot
[] - Place flag (signify a mine is there)
O - Move the grid down 1 spot (if you make a custom grid that is too big for the PSPs screen do this)
TRIANGLE - Move the grid up 1 spot (if you make a custom grid that is too big for the PSPs screen use this)
L trigger - Move the grid left 1 spot (same as above)
R trigger - Move the grid right 1 spot (same as above)
START - Reset the minefield and pick your difficulty or your own custom minefield
Home - exit

The source is included, it uses OO C++ and Oslib.

The source is free to use, I won't flip out if it is stolen but the respectable thing to do would be to mention my name.

Enjoy and comment ^^

P.S. Thanks slicer4ever for the screenshots, i <3 you

I really enjoyed this game, (Yes and I'm aware I'm bumping a really old topic but still)
One of the most annoying parts of this game is you can die on the first hit.
On all versions of microsoft minesweeper you cannot die on the first hit, even if you hex edited it to have mines cover the entire grid it would come up as a blank box.
The sad part is people do not know how to play this game.

Also in all Microsoft minesweepers, holding 2 buttons (use select for example I guess) it shows highlighted box squares to make it easier to detect mines on numbers.
