Title: contest: NDS GAME - Sushi The Cat DS - By: N3TKaT & Kamui
Post by: N3TKaT on August 11, 2005, 08:16:45 AM
Description:
Although we used this stage before on GBA, the engine is completely new. This engine is for a new (and much better) 2D platform game we are working on, but the new graphics aren't ready yet (that's why we used the old ones).

Controls:
D-PAD: Move
A: Jump
Start (Menu): Choose option
Start (Game): Pause
Select (while paused): Exit
Select: Swap screens

Pros:

-Looks absolutely gorgeous
-Controls are mostly excellent

Cons:
-Easy
-No jump down from ledge by pressing down and jump
-No ds features (not even a second screen, come on)

It's like chip and dale's rescue rangers on the nes with nes graphics, no throwing, no co-op, no ducking and no jumping down from ledges.

But it looks good enough to be a commercial game.  Maybe if you add some ds features and tweak the gameplay a bit to make it more engaging it would be fun.

My older brother's girl friend (a non-gamer) really likes it  :)  She even managed to beat the mouse.

It looks like you just ported a GBA game with no improvements (except the inreased screen res).

Ive been wondering when Sushi might come back :3
Been hopeing for more levels though. Such a fun demo that GBA one is, no doubt this one is too.

Id love to just make a buncha levels for this game, so dang fun ^_^
The stereo sound is cool enough on the DS :3

Though I woulda loved to see the game run on both screens at once just for the heck of it. But I just like the Sushi demo too much xD
