This is cool, very very cool! I have a Neo Geo 4 slot arcade cab in my house and the ability to use the same cart on both machines is a real neat idea.

Very cool! but that metal slug 5 card looks like an unencrypted bootleg card. Will the converter work with original encrypted cards?

May I ask how much this is going to cost? www.IC2005.com doesn't say. I read on www.neo-geo.com (somebody had asked IC2005) they said it will cost US$299. On http://www.nds2.com/chi/neogeo.htm I see TW$7500 which is ~US$230. Which is it or do foreigners pay more? Thank you

I think this is a clone of phantom-1 adapter, that's out since ages
such adapter is sold-out, unless i'm wrong.
anyway you can find some time to time on auction site
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEO-GEO-PHANTOM-1-ADAPTER-NEW-SEALED_W0QQitemZ6242520571QQcategoryZ13718QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

phantom-1 was really pricy, this one is pricy too.

I wonder why : look like a single PCB with only a chip on it.

anyway now you can find full jamma kit - MVS with 4 slots for 150$.
just add a cheapo 'supergun' (jamma to TV) and you're still under 299$ limit : for that price you've a full running system that isn't a 'hack' and don't have any incompatibility trouble.

at this price this adapter make not much sense imho.

I don't think it's a clone, IIRC Phantom-1 only requires one IC. It passes the game through an official SNK ASIC, which is why it costs so much, there must be a game sacrifice. The "Phenix" appears to have 3 CPLD and either a MCU or SRAM, all easily purchasable and cheap parts, this should actually cost less than the Phantom-1.

I am the one who posted the price on neo-geo.com - Our store will be carrying the MVS converter and pre-ordersare already open at www.akibagames.com

I got my price directly from Dr Neo, it might be possiblethat the converter become a little cheaper based on how many people are interested.

Regarding the issue of the Phantom-1 vs the Neo MVS converter, the advantage of the Neois that it is compatible with all Neo Geo games, including the latest releases like Metal Slug 5, Samurai Shodown 0 Special and KOF 2003 that the Phantom-1 cannot handle.

Dr Neo promised a test unit soon and I will post pictures/review as soon as it gets here.

(By the way Dr Neo, you confirmed by mail that we could be added to the list of official retailers, do not forget to do it please:) )

I'm really VERY interested in a ng fc. It's possible but quite difficult, SD slot (with a large cable for arcade cabinet and putting it where you like) is a must.

Stop speculators that wins A LOT of money from extreme dumb coleccionists.

Anymore updates on this? About to enter the Neogeo scene and would love this, especially considering the good performance I've had with my MK5.
