Please someone with alot of knowledge help with MK3 2006

First thanks for taking the time to read this. I just got the mk3 2006 package from ic2005. very nice. installed the npk 2.2 version and got the neokey with the slim loader IV to recognize it after some driver troubles. ok so far so good. I loaded up the NPK and added the .4a nds menu and a demo from the NPK dir. Put in the neokey and the mk3 with sonic rush for my original ds game, and nodda, just 2 white screens no boot or nothing. Also i did the version check and got 2 yellow screens, the ds is a new electric blue with ser NU118XXXXXX8. i have not touched the firmware. so the big question is what do I do to get this to work, the usb pen and the mmc are formated, so do i drag and drop the .nds files on a blank card? Anyways is there  a super newb guide for this? is my ds compatible? what am i doing wrong? someone please help a newbie out.

Yeah, there are several user guides in the FAQ posts section (which is a subforum of this one), which should have all the information you need. 

It seems like you've found it since you have run the firmware test.  The firmware test basically tells you that you have a new ds that is not compatible with magic key 3 unless you flash your ds firmware.  I've outlined the procedure to follow here (Requirements Section, #2):

The basic idea is you have to buy a separate PassMe2 device in order to install the flashme firmware, thereby replacing the original one on your ds.  It's not as complicated as before since there are utilities which streamline the process.
