Exactly as you described(0.4 though-did not have to exit to mk menu)

Still the same situation, card works fine with 0.5.As well as it did in 0.4,anyway.so is ok for now.thanks.

it seems to me now that maybe i tried that rom(bleach)before, heard the"click"("pop"maybe),and didnt have this trouble.

i know there is nothing we can do to get it here any faster, but im dying to know if the sd card will work with future menus(0.6 :))are we talking weeks or months?

Yeah, once the new menu comes out, let us know how it works for you (hopefully all your equipment is fine, and it's just a software issue).

As far as the actual release, no, it's not going to drag out for months and months.  I assume they are trying to adhere to some schedule, at least somewhat in line with the past releases.

I think the feature set for the new menu is pretty much complete.  I'm just guessing here that there are some unresolved, nagging issues/bugs holding up the release.  I wish I knew more myself, but I'm just not in the loop in that regard...

I have 2 kingston SD cards and I can't say I have any problems with either of them.

This actually makes me feel better.
It seems to mean that the release could be anytime, and it seems to indicate that it will be pretty good when it gets here.

OK,i recieved the MK3 2006 pack today.

Still think i should have held out for the stand-alone version(maybe the wife will let me get the 1g version when it gets released)

I used the MK3 format option on 0.6(if you dont have this, listen to those that do,itsnogoodyet)this did not fix the Kingston SD problem.so i tried to format the neo-cart(format from menu, not Neo-Max1.4,1.5)still nothing.
used both neo keys,boot cart,everything.

Maybe the released version will be recompatible(is that a real word?),but for now im not too optimistic.the card still essentially"works"just not in 0.4 or 0.6(maybe it ONLY works in 0.5 now.hmmm)

it seem as if 0.5 puts an odd file on the SD card when you run it(part of the bug,im sure)but you cannot delete it from the sd card.you can format the card and it SEEMS to dissapear, but who knows.

BTW-FAT,FAT32-these are my format options.sometimes i use one, sometimes the other.which one is really preferred?
i ask because i saw somewhere that moonshell(not neo version-self build)likes FAT32,but i saw somewhere else that under 4g should use FAT.
As i said, both seem to work, but which is preferred?

thanks much.

Hi Roger,

The beta menu included with mk 2006 is not reommended for use.  It has a lot of issues, so yeah, you should definitely wait for the official release.

I still can't figure out what could have happened in your case.  You flashed a rom from the sd card to the cart, and that finished successfully.  Then, you ran the contents of the cart, so I don't know how that could have affected the SD card, so it's no longer detected.

As far as your SD card problem, do you have a warranty for the Kingston??  I have a Sandisk myself, and it comes with a 5 year limited warranty in case anything goes wrong.

Yeah, as far as fat16 and fat32, there are really no hard-and-fast rules about which one to use.  You should use the version that's compatible with the applications/devices you are using, so fat32 sounds like it's fine for your particular case.

yeah,I had read about the MK format option, and seriously,i have tried everything else(which, believe it or not, amounted to more fun than frustration),so i wanted to try it.im sure now its the card(512 mk3 2006 compatibility is the same as 64 mk3 2005)bummer.
im gonna have to learn to trim to play REds.(or get bigger SD cards-i have several.every one is128MB :(.

HEY-it DOES detect in 0.6.theres hope!!

Also-i had sugery today(ear)and the medicine is making me loopy.sorry about my posts today(anywhere-and-EVERYWHERE) :) :) ;D ;D
