Cory1492 FAQ:Using FlashMe to update your DS firmwareWARNING - DO NOT SHUT THE DS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS, ONCE STARTED - FINISH!!Problems this may resolve:
- resolve confusion on how to do this.
- recover trashed DS firmware if you have flashme installed.
- adds protect code to be able to rescue your DS from malware like the r0mloader trojan
If you have not done FlashMe before:
1 - get the Installation file from
http://www.ds-dev.com/dsfirmware/2 - flash the installation file "flashme.nds" to your GBA cart in NDS Mode (if you aren't using NeoFlash or XG with Neo Power Kit in NDS mode it's up to you to find out how/if you can do this)
3 - gather proper materials and make these preparations:
- plug your DS into the wall
- remove the battery cover (not the battery though)
- have something metal handy that will fit into the hole pictured at
http://www.ds-dev.com/dsfirmware/4 - insert your MagicKey (or PassMe) into the DS slot with a game in it.
5 - put your GBA flash cart into the GBA slot
6 - turn on the DS
7 - when it asks, press the keys in the order it says
8 - it should now say 0% -- carefully tip your DS on it back or side and short the contact under the hole shown in the above sites image. The image on the right is the hole, & the image on the left is what you are actually shorting on the circuit board
9 - keep trying your metal object until it reaches 100% and tells you it is done. With some patience and the right screwdriver/fork/toothpick with tinfoil on it, this does not take long (10-20 seconds)
10 - turn off your DS. Note the boot buttons: ABXY while turning on the DS forces it to act like a PassMe is inserted, START+SELECT+A+B is the DS firmware recovery mode in case something happens to your DS's firmware.
Mi raccomando segui le avvertenze e non abbandonare l' installazione prima di averla completata al 100%, o puoi dire addio al tuo DS.
Tra l' altro, assicurati di possedere un DS con la firmwarwe vecchia(fino a v3 funziona) altrimenti ti serve dell' hardware aggiuntivo (un passme2 o simile).
Fai anche attenzione che il file flashme sia l'unico file sulla cartuccia al momento dell' installazione, o potrebbe non funzionare, quindi disabilita ogni tipo di multiloader se il tuo programma ne richiede uno.
Tra l' altro mi dispiace ma io no ho una neoflashcart, per cui non ti posso aiutare passo per passo sulla installazione dei files, dovrai trovare le istruzioni specifiche per la tua cartuccia.
Per rispondere alla tua domanda comunque io sono di Salerno, ma vivo a New York da circa 10 anni.
