ALSO-that stuff on the left there.....
I don't work for anybody, here or anywhere else.I have less of a role than maybe it appears, and I only represent myself.

It's O.K. to ask about other products,if you want.I just don't know about them.
Some guy is babbling in another thread about some ninjads something or other, that sounds interesting, for better media support.I don't know.

I'm just saying,Dr.Neo doesn't pay me(or anyone else,I dont think),and I love him.(in a healthy-Man kind of way)

Get what you want.

219? :(  What's the difference between all these packages?  There is next to no information for a newbie such as myself :(  I am honestly thinking of getting the M3 SD version, since I have a 512mb SD card from an old MP3 player.. would this be sufficient?

And I know I can ask about other products, just some support forums frown on this.  :(

Speaking frankly(then I'm done)
I think I was exactly where you are now,3 mos. ago.0 experience, even with GBA flashcarts.
Count on spending some time getting it running.
It may be easier now than it was(updates are frequent),but you will get pissed, some. You will get happy,a lot.
Hardly any documentation, but plenty of help here.

The cheaper package has a 512mb(thats megabit-learn about that somewhere else here)MK3.this sticks out of the back of your DS,and can store, and run roms.
The MK3 has a slot on it for your SD card(available at any drugstore),which can store and run roms.you write to it on your P.C.
It also has a NEO-Key,which is a substitute to a GBA flashcart. It holds almost no info, but is necessary without a NEO-Flashcart(or any other brand)

The more expensive package has a smaller(128mb)MK3,but includes a 512mb GBA flashcart.
You can't set up for GBA and NDS at the same time(I dont think),but you have the option of either.I do not think you can run GBA(yet-please,someone correct me?)with the cheaper package.

Some roms are 1g(512 x 2).you can get a 1g flashcart, and soon to come is a MK3 1g,that you should be able to purchase seperately, but that's another can of worms.

Good luck, got some Nifty homebrew to check out.....

I know it is difficult to get my point sometimes(i ramble),but slow down, read this(and all over this forum)and you will understand

Thanks for all the help.. I know what megabits and bytes and everything are.. I am a compsci major at college, 3rd year :)

I ended up going for the m3 SD + passme2.. it was more financially sound for me right now.. I may upgrade to the magic key after that, but since I already own the 512mbyte card for the SD, it was the best choice.. and if I don't find it benefical I can always sell it to my friend, since he wants something like that...

but of course, thanks for your help.. you were a big big help :)   :-* :-* :-*  hahaha..

edit: I got it mostly because I have one of the launch DSes, and I don't need anything else insane..

wasn't trying to offend.
Pretty sound mind here, but this stuff still makes me stupid sometimes.

I thought passme was needed only for newer firmware, but it's never something i've needed to fool with(i have a launch DS,and a newer one that seems to have old firmware),so i have no idea what you are talking about.

But good luck.try The Block Kuzushi.fun fun...

Osu! Tatake! Ouendan! plays well.. heheh, I like that Japanese music game  :P ( I'll warn you a little about the loading times, but I -bet- its gonna be better in the later menu's .. but the game itself runs perfect )
