Briefly-Not Yet(BELUM)

Not Briefly-"I believe"the particular type of problem with this one is currently being addressed, and if SD speed is up to par, then you might be able to get this one going.
I say might, because if SD speed does not get it done, you will need a NEO 1g cart.

Or maybe the just announced MK4!

I still want to know if the MK4 is an april fools joke.. if an MK4 is getting out, I'm gonna get it -for sure- .. but I think it might be a joke, who knows? ( why announce something without giving spec's?  :o )

I guess it could be a joke, but now that it is announced,I guess it's O.K. to say that it has been being mentioned,at least for a few days, among some of the testers.
If it's a joke,there getting over on me,too.
Still,could be?

This makes me very sad, I just ordered an mk3 and was hoping to play Metroid prime hunters and Bleach DS... I pray Metroid Hunters at least works or the this thing, really regret not buying the M3 + passkey instead, well that or just buying the legit copy of the games themselves....

As I said somewhere else-The MK3 will be a valid piece of hardware longer than the MK1,I think.
Development will not stop on the MK3,until it's pretty close to perfect,I'm thinking,so don't fret too much.
Not working now doesn't mean never will. :)

As reassuring as that sounds, it doesn’t make me feel better about not doing the research ahead of time and finding out that the thing I bought barely has over a 50% compatibility rate compared to other products out there with a 99% rate with all games that are out, I know they have their problems with crashing and slowdowns as well but that’s tolerable compared to getting nothing but a white screen. Seeing as my other options were here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=29384 and the price points are pretty close to how much I paid for my mk3. Also seeing that the past few menu updates did almost nothing in helping with compatibility doesn’t make me feel so good either, and even though they say they will continue development for the mk2/3 with the mk4 coming out it just means they got another product to split their efforts with. I’ve had a gba flasher in the past and it ran almost every game out of the box without the need of updates and I sort of expected the same. Sorry for the little rant just need to let some steam out. I sure hope your right, and not just speaking that way because you’re a tester and getting free hardware from the makers.

Umm,that research thing:
Neo-Testers do not get free product. We help because we like the product.
Sorry.
Yeah,I'm having the same problem with my son.
Because of the fact that he can't play"this"game,or "that"game,he really does not play at all(and I went to the trouble of putting together two set-ups,so that he could!)-Overlooking the fact that he has over a couple of hundred that he can play just fine right now.

I'm not stating fact here, just opinion, but I think compatibility will be complete before it is abandoned.
The new MK may add features,and/or size, but I dont think it will discount the MK3's ability at all.

Sorry for my little rant-I paid a lot for my NEO-stuff also(and happy with it),and you got to me,there.

Anyway, that other stuff you are talking about(other product),most of it involves patching,or shorting out your DS,or some other things that are too bothersome for end-users(like me).I'm looking into one of them myself, for media capabilities, but in the long run,you will be surprised.
You have just bought a product that is so near really good, and gets better every three weeks or so.

Still, you are better off than you think.

First off, mk4 is not an April fool's joke, and it is under development currently.  Second, as much as I would like to share Roger's sentiments that mk2/mk3 will be close to perfect eventually, I think it's too premature to make that judgment call.  It's still under development, and compatibility has increased significantly from previous releases (the speed issues on the sd card are still problematic, however).

Now, if you are focused solely on certain roms, such as Metroid Prime Hunters, working under the current menus, then yes, you will be disappointed.  Those newer roms require additional patching code in order to work (so a future menu release will be needed to add compatibility for those titles).

I have a feeling MK4 will run all those titles you mention flawlessly, but the release date is still uncertain.  So, if you want higher compatibility right now for the roms you are interested in, you should go with a non-neoflash product, such as M3, though there are other issues/problems, as you have acknowledged....
