Adding Roms to my MK3
« on: April 07, 2006, 09:03:07 AM »
Hey guys i finally received my MK3, and i also have my 1024Mb neo flash. I now already used Neo Max V.1.9 to burn the  Neoflash MK2/MK3 Menu V0.6 Beta 2 to my Neo Flash card. I also bought the SD card 256mb. I now need help on how to add my games NDS games to play.

Which program do i use?

Instructions how to burn the games.

I transfered a game into the SD card, turned on the DS, clicked on MMC, and saw the game there, clicked on it, and just booted the game. It played a bit slow (The Game: Sonic Rush).

I also saw other options when i picked MMC, and i selected the game and it had different options like Flash to MK3, and Flash to Neo. I tried Flashing it and well i have no idea what it did. Anyways If anyone can help with my questions.

Can someone also help me to understand what is the purpose of the SD card, Neo Flash Cart, thank you.

When you flash to the MK3 you got the main menu and click the MK3 icon and select the game. When you flash to the neo flash cart you do the same but clicking on the cart icon.

So is the SD card just for saving or transfering games?

The SD card stores the roms and the save files as well...  You can play from the SD card, but as you have seen, it can be slow because of loading times.

Therefore, it's preferable to flash the roms either to the mk3 or neo-cart (where they then run at full speeds).  The mk3 has the highest compatibilty levels, but the flash space (128, 256, or 512M) limits the size of the rom you are able to flash there.

Please see here for cory's detailed instructions on how to use the menu:

Awesome, one question though, im trying to save some games, and i cannot save any. I flashed them to my Neo cart, and it asks me to save the game, and press yes, and it says "Error cannot save blah blah blah".

That sounds like a bug to me (I assume you can get them to save if you run them on the sd card or mk3)

If so, you should probably report that in the menu beta version release and feedback sub-forum (it's part of the main discussion forum here -- links at the top when you first enter this forum).

One generally mentions the particular setup (since there are different variations of mk3), what the exact error message is, and when it happens (sounds like it doesn't matter what rom you choose).

If he sees this, maybe Roger Poco can confirm whether it's a bug, since he has a neoflash 1 gig cart.  I don't believe he has mentioned this problem....

EDIT: Maybe you are talking about the new roms that don't save, and don't function as a result.... then that's a patching issue that needs to be fixed in the menu
