Weird Problem
« on: April 17, 2006, 05:41:21 AM »
Hey, I've had my MK2 for quite some time but never had much of a problem with it until now. I have menu 0.6 beta 2 and an EZF Advance GBA flash cartridge. Something weird happened when I tried to flash the new menu from the SD card in my MK2. When I tried running the MK2 after the flashing, the Moonshell menu boot automatically completely skipping the MK menu. I had moonshell on the SD card at the time, so I tried a different sd card that did not have moonshell and moonshell still booted up.

The only explanation I can come up with is that the MK2 must have flashed moonshell to my cartridge instead of the menu. Also, I my cartridge no longer works in the GBA slot or on another GBA, so I have no way to reformat or flash a new menu. If someone could help me figure out how to fix this, it would be much appreciated.

Hold ABXY when powering up DS,this will boot Flashcart(i.e-menu),instead of "inner flash memory".
Then format the menu(at the MK Icon),you should be okay.

I think there's a longer answer to your question, but this should send you in the right direction, anyway.

Awesome. It worked. I have no idea why I didn't think of that. I guess I completely forgot about that whole ABXY thingy. Thanks

Hey, actually the MK2 menu boots fine now, but my flash cartridge still cannot be read. It won't really be a problem though if I can still flash to it from the ds. I can't really play any games on it anyway because the battery died a long time ago.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but you can only see things on the flashcart that have been written through the MK menu(I think)

I think it's reading the flashcart though, because that's where the menu had to come from(again,I think),because you had overwritten the flash menu space with moonshell.
