Thanks for your test wraggster.
But we still have the same problem.
In other hand, it is not really a pb, the temporay link is still available and will stay for all the compo.
So, please, just use it.
Dr Neo, if you can, post the link in upload directly in my post.

ok both files are uploaded and are working fine, check out the first post i made ;)

might be a good idea for a mod to delete all the extra posts and just have the original and mine with the downloads ?

posted on my GBA and DS sites too :)

How great, it has been a while since my last game ;D

I am very pleased just to see my game released because as a GFXer I don't have as much opportunity as a coder to create a universe. They can work almost alone, and sometimes call for a GFXer to help.
A graphist can't make games alone, he must work along with a coder who likes the concept, ideas and GFX. And also, he's not aware of what we can do or not do ("forget about this idea, it'll take too much time/it's too difficult to implement/it's impossible for the system"...).

I consider this game as a victory on the principle that says: "making homebrew games is for coders, graphists are only assistants"  8)

The link is now fix. Stange pb, I don't know why it was not working.
You have now the .gba with the game and the .zip with the readme and the jpg.
Sorry about this pb ...
wraggster, please, could you remove your uploads ? And thanks again for your test, you are great  ;).

WE NEED YOU !!!! ::sm-23.gif::
Well, The initial goal of this game was to do a very attractive game for this compo...
I know that we will certainly not win the compo (all the entries on DS are so nice and good) and it is not a pb ... Our goal is to have a very playable and addictive game for our GBA  :)
When we see the results, it's now accepted that the DS will grow and grow against the GBA ...
So please help us, send me some requests to make Lindsi a very good game for our GBA (our small console is not dead, we will continue to make games on it !!!). Tell me what is not good and what is ok  ::sm-14.gif::
The more replies we will have, the better game we will do  8)
Thanks again for those who have voted for Lindsi  ::sm-29.gif::

Hmm, well il give constrictive critique a try.
aaand since im the graphics guy too..
i'd say you need to improve the graphics,  animations work great but the sprites are'nt really that attractive. Most colors are too saturated and background is pretty flat. Some more personality for the main character could help too, I girl with a hat and a gun usually isnt enough, its all in the detail =)
(but it's good for a homebrew i guess, most people dont even seem to make original graphics so credit for that, but still not close to comercial quality )
More dynamic in the game would be nice too, light , depth etc. and esp. in the menue.

erm, dunno about the code.. add more elements and try to keep it simple i guess. hope it helps.

Thanks for these critics :)

My friend AlekMaul sometimes seems to forget that Lindsi is a oldschool game, with 80-90's graphics and gameplay. We tried to recreate the feeling of late Master System and early Megadrive/Genesis games, not to concurrence the quality of today's games.

Have we succeeded?

oooh, well sorry about that, well it fits well for something like the master system wich i play alot, tho for this kind of platform game id say (if you want oldschool feel) keep it even more simple, guess something close to bonanza brothers (bankrobbing game with guns...pow pow) I like the fake depth in the game

the question is to go for realism or 'funnier' style. I would like to shrink the sprites a bit so you get more control and oversight.
hope it helps.

THanks for your reply Calle_, I will take a look at Bonanza borthers.
Like Nhut said, don't forget our goal, a "homage to old school games".  ::sm-29.gif::

Very nice oldschool touch imho. Graphics make me think of Dylan Dog (I guess we are 3 people remembering that game  ::sm-04::

Now, the (constructives) critics :
- Looking at other games sounds a good idée, more than bonanza bros I\'ll add rolling thunder and sunset riders (wih I really really like).
- Adding a close-ranged-attack (like knife) would clean up th fights
- bumping into ennemy rather than going trough would be better I think(like in shinobi if I remember well)
- The game is a little too fast for granpas like me  O0O
- Shooting button should work while walking, just stop the girl when shooting.
- Searching furnitures for items or infos would be nice, with a search gauge like in very very old game with the robot johnny 5 (or R.O.B or something like that)

That\'s all for now, nice job again !
