i did exactly what you said i used the NeoN64Menu-v2.4b1-PAL set (im in united kingdom) but it still freezes on the white neo team splash screen, if i load mario kart 64 using boot type B n64 game it works but freezes after i finish the 4th race on the leaderboard screen, i have formatted the cart and input all your settings but still no joy..i think im bricked so my next question is gonna be..how do i unbrick?

EDIT:

ideally i only want to boot games using the boot type b n64 game method because i only have the 256mb version and im happy just to install 2 games and use the switch on top of the cart to select between the 2 games (in time i might purchase a 1 gb card so i can run bigger games like resident evil 2) but my main concern at this time is booting mario kart 64 and saving the game succesfully, can anyone verify that they have mario kart 64 running flawlessly using the boot type b n64 game method??

EDIT 2:

by the way if it helps this is the package i bought from ic2005:

NEO N64 Myth flash cart + 256M

Are you using a PAL N64?
What bootcart are you using?
What is the exact name of the Mario Kart 64 rom, also what extension does it have? Is it PAL too?

What settings did you flash under cic and save?

Have you tried flashing Mario Kart 64 two times to see if it works okay in the second "slot"?

2 things come to my mind:
1.Problematic GAME FLASH on the gba cart
2.Defective board

So , do what i told you earlier : contact with ic2005 to get your item replaced/fixed.

But before you do so , make sure to try a low level format (just in case...).

Don't get your hopes up though , since a low level format will only fix the hang during the menu init(when it fetches the FLASH entries which might be reading corrupted data due to bad flash) and hangs in games (assuming that its a software issue , but most likely its not). The save emulation will still be limited without core upgrade.

(in time i might purchase a 1 gb card so i can run bigger games like resident evil 2)

Make sure to get the one that has 256Mb zipram + SD slot so that you can load games from SD cards.
(this one : http://www.ic2005.com/shop/product.php?productid=119  , and yes it will work with other neo2 flashcarts(snes/md/sms) and GBA ...)

Now that this works it's time to give the menu another try because it will select the right save type automaticly.

Just flash the neon64 to Bios Path A2, the neon64mf to Bios Path A1, set the boottype to Type A-2: N64 menu and select mario kart 64 as the rom you want to flash.

Did you only add the Neon64 to the gameflash when you took the picture or all of the time? Because that's not where you should put it ;P
