Don't put it where the game rom is. Because that is only for games. ~sm-37.gif~
Could be the cause of the freeze at startup.

Pointing to Neo2 Pro Manager to the right files in the A1/A2 section is enough for the menu to run.

i found this in a read me file in menu version 1.9...

Installation: Copy NEON64.v64 and NEON64MF.v64 to where your N64 rom
images are. In the Neo2 Pro Manager on your PC, set the boot type to
"TypeA-2: N64 U2", set the BIOS Path A-2 to the NEON64.v64 image, then
click "Burn" to set the menu in the N64 Myth menu flash.

so reading that i guess i forgot to flash neon64mf with neon64 and mario kart, so i was kinda right 1st time around lol

NEON64.v64 is for the N64 Myth menu flash while NEON64MF.v64 is for the GBA cart menu flash. While you can write both, it's a waste as only one or the other is needed. Using both simply makes you wait longer on boot up as one runs the other.

I normally write NEON64.v64 to the N64 Myth menu flash, and MDEBIOS.BIN to the GBA cart menu flash. Note that the path names (A-1 and A-2) changed depending on the version of the PC client software (NeoFlash Pro Manager). Set them according to the description of the path, not the A-1/A-2 name. NEON64.v64 goes in whichever one refers to the U2 menu flash as the U2 menu flash is on the N64 Myth. The other path will be for the GBA flash cart.

i think i have bricked the "N64 Myth menu flash" im guessin its on the actual myth cart and not the gba white card (256mb) because i still cant get it to run, still freezes on neo team splash screen, but like i said in previous posts the "boot type b" works fine for me including saving games and backup and restore etc, just curious if i can fix the menu using the NDP? i saw a unbrick.bat was mentioned on the forums..

You can't brick anything. That unbrick.bat was created for an early neo 2 pro manager, where it could happen that it didn't find the neo2 cart at all after a crash while flashing.
This is not the case for you.

Try it as Chilly Willy suggested and flash the mdbios.bin to the gba cart to clear out any previous N64 menu that might be there and then flash the neon64.v64 to the U2(U2 means the chip inside the Neo N64 Myth) menu flash. This way the N64 menu won't load the second menu from the Neo2 cart.
Also burn one 256Mbit game to the gameflash to overwrite the menu you flashed to the gameflash accidently.

Also make a screenshot of the Neo2 Pro Manager before you flash so we can see what you did.

A clever thing to do would be to read back the menu flash and do a checksum compare to the original file to see if the menu flash is maybe broken.
