Update of R6 after V3.1-2276
« on: December 07, 2010, 02:38:15 PM »
Is there any change that the game menu for the R6 Gold will be updated since many new games will not work in version 3.1 2276?
Or do I have to buy new cards :(

Any change for updates?

Regards
Jan

Changes come as the people working on the menus get time to work on them. I'd like to see the NDS/GBA menus go open source as that was what allowed the MD/N64/SNES menus to literally explode in features and updates. No doubt, the NDS/GBA menus would see more updates if they were open as well.

It would be nice if the R6 core was opensource , but im sure this wouldn't be enough
for what users are asking for mostly : compatibility.

Most of the games ship with new protection methods , and the menu must have the ability to bypass those
with its embedded database which must be updated manually.

I would assume that if the R6 went open, then someone would do a quick port of wood or something. It's a shame to watch the R6 die, it's the only cart with motion :(

I really like that card (I have 4 versions of it) and i think that the motion sensor was a GREAT addition and also the gyroscope  ~sm-69.gif~.gif , So sad if it died  ::sm-02::
