MagicKey GBA thing I have.
« on: September 11, 2011, 01:41:28 AM »
My friend brought over this thing and gave it to me:

From what I've read this thing might be able to play GBA games.
However I have no idea how to use it and would love if someone explained or pointed me to a guide.
 :)

Could you take a better picture of the cart itself? It's not really possible to see which exact cart you have on that photo.

EDIT: Ok, I'm going to assume that it's this one
Try using the Neo Pro Manager (http://www.neoflash.com/myth/Neo2_Pro_Manager_1.11_Setup.rar)
If that doesn't work, try the older Neo Power Kit
What you want to do with the Manager / Power Kit is to format the cart as a GBA cart (if it isn't already). Then add the game ROMs and press burn.

Hmm okay I'll see if I can get this baby to work! :D

Yes, there's a limit: the size of the cart. If you have the 1 Gbit version you can fit 128 MByte worth of games on it.

Damn what I wanted to have all the info on this computer but Power Kit doesnt work on windows 7. I'll have to turn to my desktop that runs on XP.
is there a download that just installs the driver?  :P

By the way I can't find a way to format the cart with Neo Power Kit... and I cant burn either it gets stuck at 0%

If there are compability problems with Windows 7 it's most likely the drivers, not the application. So you're better off using XP for this. This is an old product after all.

I don't remember the exact options in the Neo Power Kit since I haven't used it in a long time. Maybe it didn't have a format option. Does it indicate in any way that it has detected your cart?

Hmm okay I'll stick with Windows XP then. Hmm Power Kit didn't have that option and it shows that it's reading the cart becaise at the bottom it says all the card info, the memory size 1024mbit, but when I add a rom and hit burn it just says "writing to something" and a little thing in the corner moves form / to | to \ to show that its loading but it sits there for days

could it be the battery being dead btw?

This is frustrating me beyond belief.
Nothing is working. The only thing close was when I installed the Neo2 Pro manager it came with a special after download driver that I installed that actually seemed to work except it was for SL 4 and I have an SL3.
